Technical Projects - Project Manager


A vacancy has arisen for a Technical Projects – Project Manager at Glanbia Business Services. This is a permanent position and will report to the Sr. Manager of Technology Projects.


The base location of the role will be Kilkenny or Dublin, Ireland with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance

Working under the direction of a Sr. Manager of Technology Projects, the Project Manager role involves management of activities within all project phases and contribution to quality of key project deliverables (project charter, blueprint document, cutover plan, post go-live support plan)


Key elements of the role
•    Lead a regional technical projects team in the delivery of the projects
•    Staff management including objective setting, performance reviewing, prioritisation, mentoring and training
•    Responsible for managing complex and cross-functional projects
•    Deliver projects to agreed designs, timeframes and budgets using Glanbia Project Management methodologies
o    Technical business integration projects
o    New technology service rollouts (for new and existing business)
o    Next Gen IT transformation projects
o    Hardware / software upgrade project delivery
o    Project documentation, handover to IT Operations and Service Desk
o    Project risk assessment and mitigation
o    Project status communication
•    Develop and maintain project schedule
•    Establish and execute communication plan to all groups including project team, stakeholders and executive sponsors
•    Ensure all Glanbia standards and policies are adhered by the project team
•    Adhere to IT design principles and standards as defined by Global Infrastructure & Design Services
•    Put together and manage project budget. Get approvals from business and IT sponsors
•    Owns project change management process
•    Experience and knowledge of industry best practices in project management. Stay current with Project Management trends
•    Ability to learn quickly and immediately apply new knowledge
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and ambiguous environment

Requirements for the role

•    3rd Level relevant technical qualification
•    At least 5 years of experience in Project Management within a globally dispersed organisation
•    Experience in supporting multiple projects concurrently
•    Strong sense of professionalism and comfortable interacting with all levels of seniority
•    Knowledge of the cost, timeline and resources necessary in deploying technology projects
•    Ability to work well within an environment of frequently changing priorities, adapt as needed and develop a solution-oriented approach
