TECHNICAL SUPPORT MANAGER

Reporting to the Head of Technical Development the primary functions of the Technical Support Manager role is the provision of technical advisory and thought leadership in relation to ruminant, pig, equine and pet feed. They will be responsible for specifying the technical guidelines for each feed product and for the development of new feed products. They will also collaborate with the central R&D team on end-to-end product innovation across the GI supply chain

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new product prototypes and innovations in collaboration with third parties, with input from the Commercial and Quality & Compliance teams, which will deliver greater value for GI and our farmers
  • Develop new products and services in the area of ruminant, equine & pet nutrition
  • Perform pilot testing and research with customers to refine product prototypes
  • To manage and provide leadership to the GI feed technical support advisory team which will report to the feed technical support manager
  • Collaborate with central R&D teams on end to end product innovation and support in establishing links between individual feed formulations and expected milk composition
  • Develop seasonal feed formulation guidelines for each feed product
  • Respond to Customer Relationship Manager or Branch staff requests for technical support in relation to specific farmer queries
  • Provision of a farm-level feed formulation service and specialised nutrient plans for GI customers
  • Provide training on feed products and animal nutrition to Customer Relationship Managers and Retail staff network
  • Develop informative articles and on-line content on best practice in animal nutrition
  • Design and deliver animal nutrition presentations to GI staff and customers

Key Requirements:

  • Strong on-going knowledge of technical development within the agribusiness industry
  • Experience of R&D, project management and delivery
  • Good communication skills in delivering technical presentations to various audiences
