The Opportunity 

Lead Japan E-commerce Strategy & Deployment

  • Responsible for continuously adapting and developing GPN’s global E-commerce strategy for Japan’s market and key online retailers and distributors.
  • Identify and address unique market opportunities to drive online awareness, share growth, and sales.

Drive Japan online sales

  • Accountable for driving online sales for Japan. Focused on Account management and commercial management of e-commerce platforms, with focus on Amazon and Rakuten. Includes JBPs and commercial negotiations with distributors and platform partners.
  • Executes E-commerce brand, marketing and platform campaigns based on business intelligence and plans aligned with distributors.


E-commerce Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Data consolidation and reporting for Monthly, Quarterly, and ad hoc reports in a timely manner.
  • Supports country manager on portfolio analysis and e-commerce business forecast. Drive relevant pack sizes and product range, support NPD projects for Japan.


Campaign Development and Execution

  • Brand development on e-com via commercial campaigns, consolidating monthly sales and marketing performance.
  • Drive content optimisation and frictionless customer experience on digital shelf and related product pages.
  • Manage marketing and trade promotion spend and platform relevant projects collaborating with the distributors, the Marketing team, and the digital agency, ensuring ROI/ROAS is maximised. 



  • Successful implementation of channel projects (D2C), including opportunity sizing and reviewing performance. 


The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Hands-on experience delivering e-commerce sales and operations (Minimum 5 years). Track record of delivering e-commerce performance on Brand official stores, 1st or 3rd party online sellers.
  • Experience and understanding of e-commerce workflows, operational management and marketing tools under Amazon and Rakuten. Adept in Data Analysis.
  • Previous experience working with e-commerce distributors to implement key business initiatives by brand and retailer is welcome.
  • Understanding of Import and customs regulations in F&B in Japan, with some exposure to cross-border e-commerce, would be a plus. 
  • Ability to breakdown cost value chains for cross-border and domestic e-commerce.
  • Ability to work entrepreneurially across a culturally diverse group of people and markets. Embraces teamwork and diversity as a key value.
  • Excellent communication to drive x-function alignment.
  • Proactive, energetic, and investigative team player
  • Working capacity in both Japanese (native or equivalent) and English
