Exempt Status: Hourly, Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

 

This role is temporary/seasonal support through mid-Janruary, 2022.

Responsible for all sales goals & activity within the Cheese Store, drive sales results, communicate clearly with retail customers, keep the appearance of the store professional and clean, stock shelves and other such duties that may arise.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities:

 

•            Learn and communicate clearly the flavours and uses of the different varieties of cheese and protein products for sale.

•            Provides fast, friendly, and accurate service

•            Effectively handle customer issues.

•            Store cleanliness including laundry washed, sweeping, mopping and scrubbing kitchen and bathrooms. Removal of all garbage & cardboard   

•            Stock coolers and keep the product faced and presentable.

•            Operate a POS system, count money, and reconcile cash drawer daily and make deposits.

•            Must be dependable and trustworthy.

•            Perform accurate inventory

•            Assisting in the planning and organizing of special events throughout the community

•            Must be able to work some weekends

•            Other such duties that may arise.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training:

  • Must possess high school diploma or the equivalency.
  • Ability to run a cash register and the POS system.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

  • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Ability to read, and write English. 
  • Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items works with fingers, stooping, kneeling and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

 

             

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 LBS.
