JOB SUMMARY

 

This role comprises all of the financial management responsibilities for Glanbia Foods Inc. in North America, with additional responsibility for the Accounting & Control activities of the Glanbia Joint Venture Partners Southwest Cheese in Clovis, New Mexico and Midwest Cheese in St. Johns, Michigan. The responsibilities of the role comprise the following: 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Development of a high performing team across North America that successfully delivers high quality financial reporting and insights to facilitate accurate and timely decision making.
  • Embedding the company’s purpose, vision and values in all team activities and to ensure that robust succession and development planning is in place across the team.
  • Direction and management of all key reporting cycles, end-to-end.
  • Development of robust Internal Controls and Reconciliation tools to effectively manage complex transactions traversing multiple statutory ledgers.
  • Management of significant working capital investment across all elements of the Balance Sheet and driving initiatives cross-functionally, including with Procurement and Shared Services North America to optimize working capital investment levels and Operating Cash flow results.
  • Provide direction for all key forecasting cycles and present the output of the forecasting cycle to the Financial and Executive Leaderships teams
  • Development of Dashboard Reporting and insights to identify the key drivers of Balance Sheet variances and their impact (risk) on Profitability and Operating Cash flow, with regular presentation of this output to the Finance Leadership Team.
  • Identification through interaction with Glanbia Group Finance of new accounting standards and regulations that materially impact the financial and commercial reporting of Glanbia Foods Inc.
  • Total ownership of the relationship with Internal and External Auditors, driving the resolution of any Management Action points and pre-emptively identifying and remedying any control deficiencies, thereby driving positive audit outcomes and maintaining robust Internal Controls.
  • Negotiation with vendors and finance lending partners regarding significant financing, leasing and related arrangements.
  • Identification of opportunities for P&L savings through robust management of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable cycles together with challenging the ‘status quo’ of existing arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8+ years of related experience
  • Professional Accounting Qualification preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered
  • IFRS knowledge is essential
  • Strong financial acumen, including strong technical accounting skills
  • Must possess a broad business perspective and have a ‘hands-on’ and in-depth understanding of company financials
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organization
  • Hands-on experience of using and operating SAP systems, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Domestic travel up to 10%, and occasional International travel.
