IT Operations Team Lead - US

 

A vacancy has arisen for the role of IT Operations Team Lead - US West at Glanbia Business Services (GBS) in Twin Falls, ID. This is a permanent position and will report to the Director of IT - Operations & Support.

 

Key deliverables of the role

  • Lead a 24x7 multi-disciplinary technical team in the day to day management of US West IT infrastructure services
  • Lead the key on-site (and regional) resolver group for support where necessary and acting as the link between Service Desk and Users
  • In conjunction with the Director US IT Operations and Global IT Operations deliver IT operations’ services for regional IT infrastructure and services
  • Together with the Director US IT Operations ensure all global IT operations standards and policies are adhered to across the US West team
  • Coordinate regional team activities with Director US IT Operations & Support
  • Lead the key on-site (and regional) support for H/W and S/W rollouts
  • Operational services include:
    • All end user support including desktop applications, mobile devices, collaboration and productivity infrastructure, etc.
    • Regional on-site incident resolution as escalated from Service Desk
    • Regional hardware lifecycle management including ordering and deployment of Glanbia standard hardware.
    • Regional hardware build activities, in coordination with Deployment/Technical Projects/Infrastructure Projects team.
    • Regional software deployment of Glanbia standard builds to clients and servers
    • Regional server management
    • Regional infrastructure including weigh bridges, scanners, kiosks, voice picking, etc.
    • Regional print management
    • Regional telephony support
    • Support for the deployment of local projects
  • Continuously improve the operational systems, processes, policies and reporting for all IT Regional IT infrastructure
  • Measure, monitor and report to businesses on IT asset (SW/HW) consumption
  • Support for the delivery of local projects to agreed designs, timeframes and budgets
  • Be the local feedback channel to design functions for quality & other business requirements
  • Participate in Global Technology forums to maintain the global perspective and to bring regional perspective to the Global team 
  • Provide advice and consultancy on infrastructure initiatives to Glanbia locally
  • Deliver increased “IT Fluency” across the user landscape through initiatives specifically designed to increase user awareness, proficiency and efficient use of the IT tools available
  • Staff management including objective setting, performance reviewing, prioritisation, mentoring and training

    Requirements for the role

  • Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Business or Engineering).

     

    Skills & experience

  • Minimum of 5 years operations experience in leadership/supervisory capacity.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication skills.
  • Well-developed inter-personal and people management skills environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new technology and applications.
  • Has initiative, sense of responsibility and commitment to work
  • Has excellent leadership skills, especially with remote work teams.
