Essential Functions

  • Manage the SAP freight purchase order system. Monitor and resolve freight order discrepancies and ensure invoicing moves through SAP to payment in a timely manner.
  • Actively works to resolve carrier payment issues to include overages, shortages and past due
  • Train and support usage of the Transportation Management System
  • Execute and publish service and cost reporting consistent with required timing         
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external contacts, leveraging these relationships to improve transportation effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update the fuel surcharge spreadsheet
  • Monitor and enter shipment detail data into SAP
  • Work cross functionally with Finance to ensure the freight accrual program is current and accurate
  • Provide backup and support to team members in the Logistics function as needed
  • Stay current with transportation industry (local and national) trends, issues, government policies, etc.

 

Additional Functions

  • Communicate effectively with team members across all business functions within Glanbia and outside suppliers and customers by emphasizing courtesy, professionalism and follow through
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes and work with the broader Glanbia team to take advantage of such opportunities
  • Attend supply chain and other meetings as deemed appropriate
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or a minimum of three years related experience.
  • Ability to provide direction to suppliers and hold the suppliers accountable for performance.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers and other third parties, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Self-directed and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
