Job Summary

The Procurement Agent will operate in a rapidly expanding, fast moving, and complex business with minimal supervision.  Will support the delivery of the strategy, managing risk, supporting cost savings initiatives, achieving KPI’s and ensuring consistent delivery of products and services while ensuring the day to day operations delivers and runs efficiently.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

  • Provide inputs into Developing Category Plan
  • Maintain Price, Lead Time, Terms, etc. in PIR’s*
  • Price Negotiations for Spot Buys for up to $10,000*
  • Obtain cost savings or avoidances with improvements and log variances*
  • Responsible for Day to Day sourcing activities and eTenders  (including required documentation and R&D / QA approvals) and upload updates to sourcing database*
  • Assign CRM Requests / Attend Weekly Sourcing Meeting (where applicable)
  • Supplier Relationship Management*
  • Report analysis and process/buying optimization and trend development in coordination with Center of Excellence (COE)
  • Manage non-conformances and returns until frequency and/or severity escalates*
  • Provide site training to SAP Procurement Users
  • Maintain LIV Log, monitoring to make sure pending invoices are corrected and cleared from the log in a timely manner and escalate process improvement opportunities with repeated issues to the Center of Excellence  (consult category team on pricing and PIR issues)
  • Facilitate Implementation of Category and COE Collaboration Projects
  • Facilitate the process for stock transport orders (STO’s, if necessary) in coordination with Inventory Control, as well as the appropriate Buyer(s)
  • Maintain new vendor and SAP material code set up process with approval from the category team, including submitting of the e-form when required, and follow up with Shared Services to ensure proper and prompt set up
  • Assist in the sourcing of new requirements including e-tenders documenting any details in our shared sourcing database*
  • Submit new products for evaluation as needed*
  • Assign Source to Daily Requisitions as Required
  • Coordinate receipt and QA approval of updated required documentation as needed*
  • Resolve Assigned Category/Site Daily Issues
  • Maintain LIV Log, monitoring to make sure pending invoices are corrected and cleared from the log in a timely manner and escalate process improvement opportunities with repeated issues to the Center of Excellence  (consult category team on pricing and PIR issues)
  • Process requisitions ensuring alignment to category strategy and proper procedures are followed (order confirmation is required and all business units may not have the same functions that must be managed and reduce risk of missed materials that may shut down plants)
  • Maintain an open order report as required
  • Coordinate Logistics as required (Import & Domestic)
  • Run Spend Reports Regularly and Other Reports as Required for Site Management Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Foster the Glanbia culture of “The Customer Champion” through outstanding service with a “can do” attitude
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Handles quality issues until they become too frequent and/or severe and need to pass to the Category team for Supplier Relationship Management  (SRM) support
  • Report analysis and process/buying optimization and trend development in coordination with Center of Excellence (COE)

 

*   The category team is responsible for all category ingredients or services and may delegate to the Procurement operations team some local/regional category strategy for smaller or off strategy volumes; the Procurement operations team should always notify the category manager when sourcing new local/regional ingredients or services and collaborate on future ownership

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:

  • University degree in related field preferred (equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered)

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of procurement or business experience in related industry; university degree can substitute for some work experience
  • Working knowledge of and experience with food or fortification manufacturing environment desired

Language, Computer &   Numeracy:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English required
  • Experience with and solid understanding of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP with the ability and desire to work within and progress such complex systems with eTender, SharePoint and Business Objects experience also preferred
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong math skills, and knowledge of the metric system, are required
  • Heavy Data analysis including MS Excel pivot tables and spreadsheets to do calculations on cost potency changes, percentages, etc

Travel Requirements

Periodic domestic travel required (~up to 15%)
