Job Summary

This role comprises Senior Accountant on the Accounting and Control team of the US Cheese and Joint Ventures segments, and will be located in Twin Falls, Idaho.  This role will be responsible for the integrity of the financial processes and financial information for the US Cheese and Joint Ventures segments. The role will include significant involvement in the management of the month-end close and budget/forecasting cycles.  Emphasis is on providing timely, relevant and accurate information in a dynamic environment, where accurate information is paramount and essential in supporting operational and strategic decision-making.  The role will also be responsible for the Balance Sheet, ensuring all Balance Sheet accounts are fully reconciled and that the control environment is appropriate and robust to support the financial records. This will include liaising with central A&C, Commercial, Operations and Group Finance teams, and both internal and external auditors.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)


  • Work closely with the Assistant Controller and Director of Finance to oversee the day-to-day running of the accounting and control activites of the US Cheese and Joint Ventures segments
  • Lead the month end-close consolidation and BCS Reporting process
  • Management and coaching of direct reports
  • Coordinate the month-end close process ensuring Glanbia Group reporting deadlines are met
  • Ensure that the required accounting control procedures are in place and are effective; this includes the control and reconciliation of the Balance Sheet in line with the Balance Sheet responsibility matrix
  • Manage the internal and external audits and effort in ensuring compliance with Glanbia accounting policies, including internal controls
  • Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Liaise with Group finance functions to ensure compliance and alignment with Group policies and risk management
  • Support financial process and systems improvement activity, ensuring all GN financial planning and reporting processes are optimized and aligned with overall Glanbia reporting structure


Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:


  • Professional Accounting qualification or a strong desire to work towards achieving same
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum 3-5 years of finance experience gained in a variety of finance environments, including significant financial planning and analysis and financial control experience


Experience Required:


  • Strong financial acumen including strong technical accounting skills.  Must possess a broad business perspective and have a ‘hands-on’ and in-depth understanding of financial information

  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organization
  • Hands on experience of using and operating SAP systems or equivalents, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
