The primary function of this role is to support the Accounting & Reporting Manager in ensuring the integrity of financial processes. They play a critical role in the financial and management close process by performing activities such as control account reconciliations, revenue assurance activities. Working closely with finance teams in Glanbia Business Services, they ensure that all close activity in their Category/Function progresses smoothly and act as the first point of contact for resolution of queries. They also have a responsibility in creating the draft P&L / B/S and Cash flow statements for their A&R manager to review and approve. This role reports to the Ingredients and MEA Accounting & Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Period End close activities are performed according to agreed close schedules
  • Perform supervisory review and approval of GBS Transaction Finance team’s work, i.e. AP / AR
  • Controlling, reporting and monitoring of key balance sheet accounts, including Fixed Assets, Debtors and Creditors
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations where required, submitting for review to manager
  • Reporting of key Balance Sheet variances, including detailed working capital analysis and comparisons to the latest financial plans
  • Act as point of escalation to resolve intercompany disputes / interface errors / journal positing queries
  • Clear and accurate monthly financial reporting of P&L and Balance Sheet, via SAP Business Warehouse / Business Objects, including supporting schedules
  • Prepare other reports as required – e.g. Inventory reporting (monitoring obsolesce / performing inventory adjustments)
  • Provide analysis and supporting information to (through the BP) assist management teams in understanding business performance and decision making
  • Participate in process improvement reviews and undertaken root cause analysis to reduce exceptions in the process
  • Ensuring compliance with controls including reporting on and monitoring of controls & Liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Foreign exchange reporting and control
  • Involvement in preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Preparation of year end statutory accounts in compliance with IFRS
  • Preparation of tax schedules at year end

Key Requirements:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification
  • 2-3 years post qualification experience ideally in a multinational organisation or professional practice
  • Strong financial reporting (IAS/IFRS) background and risk management experience
