Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is the management of the end to end commercialization and pre-commercialization process for Premix, Bakery and Film products produced in West Haven, Orange or Talyorville, with the aim of bringing new materials to market without unnecessary delays.The scope of the role will cover all new materials whether resulting from customer projects, market driven innovation or product variants. The role will also coordinate bi-weekly meetings of the Project Review Team (PRT) facilitating the involvement of all relevant functions in project approval and project development. The role will convene a monthly review meeting of all stakeholders in the commercialization process to assess the KPIs and agree actions to continuously improve the process.

Essential Functions

  • Concept to Market commercialization of new products, as determined by Premix Solutions PSM Team
      1. Coordinate the bi-weekly project review team meeting ensuring input from all stakeholders to key approval and development decisions.
      2. Create a project plan for each approved project and coordinate all activities to ensure adherence to plan and visibility to status of each project.
      3. Communicate project plans, schedule, and budget with all relevant departments including PSM, Quality, R&D, Procurement, Operations, Regulatory  and Technical Services
      4. Responsible for keeping the project pipeline up to date and communicating to the team, including status updates.
      5. Once pre-Commercialization/Commercialization is triggered coordinate across all functions the development and input of all internal and external documentation, required to enable the product to be produced and sold.
      6.  Work closely with international PSM team to provide required documentation and information needed to register new products in developing markets
      7. Perform master data/SAP setup functions assigned to the Commercialization manager and co-ordinate all other master data set up across all functional areas.
      8. Coordinate with logistics team on warehouse and vendor setup
      9. Facilitate work between operations, tech services, and R&D by setting up bench top and scale up trials.
      10. Where required, facilitate marketing requirements between PSM, Technology Manager, R&D and Marketing
      11. Monitor first 3-5 lots of production to finalize specification, close out NPD process, and transition to production planning and PSM.
      12. Perform root cause analysis on KPIs and convene a monthly review meeting to agree actions to continuously improve the process.
    1. Identifies 2-3 process improvement projects each year and works to completion. These projects will help to improve overall performance to customer expectations, improve the P&L, and assist in business growth.
  • Act as liaison for internal customers (sales, finance, customer service, purchasing, marketing, operations, quality) for day-to-day product activities and questions.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends when needed.


  • Bachelor degree (BS) required. Degree in Food Science/Food Technology a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food and nutrition industry.
  • Strong technical and business skills for management and commercialization of products in the food and nutrition industry.
  • Basic International markets experience
  • Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
  • Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
