JOB SUMMARY

 

Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member and business partner with the operation team located at the manufacturing plants in West Haven, CT and Taylorville, IL.  Evaluate, interpret, and report daily, weekly and monthly operational reporting and analysis for Premix business units.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities:

  • Support Director of Finance on oversight of financial aspects of all plant operations at West Haven, CT and Taylorville, IL.
  • Responsible for monthly financial operations close and reporting cycle, manufacturing variances, and production reports including overhead analysis.
  • Prepare and participate in the annual budgeting and forecasts activities. Provide detailed analysis on the development of the costs and present variance analysis.
  • Ability to plan, organize and provide analysis in all phases of the accounting process to assure the plants have the tools needed to operate in an efficient and profitable manner.
  • Provide analytical support and data in a timely manner to the production, supply chain and other support departments.  Participate in operational decision making.
  • Lead the Understanding Losses Pillar activity for both premix sites including cost savings initiatives
  • Analyze operational modeling (labor efficiencies, yield, FTQ, batching, etc.).
  • Assist in capital expenditure project accounting including ROI analysis, project spend vs. plan, and initial fixed asset setup.
  • Support Director of Finance in the functions of the Plant Finance Operations department.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training:      

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five year’s related experience.
  • CPA license and/or MBA preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.

 

Experience Required:   

  • Minimum of five year’s related experience specifically in a manufacturing environment

 

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:       

  • SAP, Business Objects
  • Excel, Access

 

Language, Computer & Numeracy:         

  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft operating systems, 10-key

TYPICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Physical Requirements:  

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Should be able to decipher color and to focus on objects within 20 feet.

 

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • Should be able to decipher color and to focus on objects within 20 feet. May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e., office equipment or light traffic).

 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
