Mechanic Electrician
Pay Range: Non Exempt, starting pay based on experience
Schedule: Primary Hours 1st shift (7:00AM-3:30PM) other shifts including weekends as needed.
SUMMARY
To maintain the company’s facilities and machines to enable an efficient manufacturing operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible and accountable for completing assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Responsible and accountable for the accuracy and quality of work performed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum: High school graduate.
- Preferred: Trade school graduate/training.
- Must be a licensed electrician.
- 5 or more years of experience as an industrial electrician working with Packaging machines
- Have hands on electro-mechanical troubleshooting/repair experience.
- Experience in a food industry a plus.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must speak, read, and write using the English language.
- Able to multi task and bring tasks to closure.
- Must be able to read shop and electrical drawings for parts, dimensioning, and troubleshooting.
- Must be able to communicate and document work in process and /or completed during the shift.
- Must be able to troubleshoot electromechanical & pneumatic equipment, perform maintenance and work with minimal guidance on a 3- phase, 480 volt equipment.
- Must be able to work safely and follow all safety procedures.
- Must have follow-thru skills.
- Must be “level-headed” and work in a professional manner with all levels of employees.
- Self starter, team oriented, able to get along with employees at all level.
- Must be able to work additional hours/days as requested
- Must be able to work in areas processing powders and liquids at high temperature.
- Must be able to work most of their time is spent standing, stooping, and /or bending while performing job tasks.
- Demonstrated electro-mechanical skills.
- Trouble shooting and repairing of scales
- Pneumatic controls and sensors
- Hydraulic controls and sensors
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail skills.
- Must be a “team-player”.
- Able to plan and accomplish job from start to finish according to schedules, and other instructions.
- Use of hand tools, verniers, and micrometers
- Boilers, air compressors, DI water, pumps, heat exchangers, and other process equipments
- Able to learn new equipment and controls
- Day to day trouble shooting, repair and installation of low and high voltage (single/three phase) industrial electromechanical & control systems for utility & production equipment.
- Must be competent to make electrical/mechanical diagnostic evaluation and prescribe corrective action.
- Must be proficient in PLC’s, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and electrical supply and logic. This includes up to 480V systems.
- Very beneficial to have experience in controls, variable speed drives, servo drives, encoders.
- Occasional facilities support as needed in HVAC, Mechanical, etc.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace via standard industrial 5S and other practices
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- cGMP
- SOPs as required.
- All PPE as required.
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.
- General machine operation for all machines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
- Lifting, Pushing, Pulling, Bending, Stooping, Squatting, Standing, Stretching, etc. are required at various levels through out the day.
- Continuous mental and visual attention required.
- May be required to operate a forklift and or scissor lift.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- Safety glasses as required.
- Uniforms.
- Hair nets.
- Gloves.
- “Dust” masks as needed.
- Any other PPE as needed/required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in an assembly facility with air borne particles and moderate noise levels.
OTHER:
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
