Production Supervisor

  • To maintain an efficient manufacturing operation that complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices; Standard Operating Procedures; Safety; Customer delivery requirements and other company policies.




  • Supervises and directs operation to best meet production requirements.
  • Responsible and accountable for the quality of production on the shift.
  • Responsible and accountable for the overall productivity of the shift.
  • Responsible and accountable to follow production schedule.
  • Directly supervises the successful start up of first batches as necessary.
  • Responsible and accountable for the enforcement of all company policies, SOPs, FDA regulations and cGMPs.
  • Responsible and accountable for the quality, efficiency, productivity and safety of the shift.
  • Responsible and accountable for setting up the next shift to ensure a smooth shift change.




  • BS in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment  



  • Knowledge of SOP’s and cGMP’s.
  • Must speak, read, and write using the English language.
  • Able to multi task and bring tasks to closure.
  • Must have follow-thru skills.
  • Work in a professional manner.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent record keeping skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent work habits and capable of encouraging others to achieve success.
  • Must be a “hands-on” “team-player” leader who leads by example.




  • Supervises all departmental employees.
  • Supervises sanitation employees on an as needed basis.





  • Audits equipment cleaning and use log books.
  • Accurately audits completed batch records and makes necessary corrections.
  • Recommends changes to batch records to reduce errors, improve efficiency, etc.
  • Completes work orders as needed and records equipment problems which could not be corrected.
  • Completes worker related accident forms.
  • Performs and documents accident investigations as necessary.
  • Records ideas for productivity improvements and other matters of importance and shares them with management as appropriate.
  • Responsible for department’s paperwork including:
  • Which batch records are required for each operation.
  • How each batch record must be filled out.




  • Receives and acts on instructions given from superiors and communicates directives to the subordinates in a professional manner.
  • Has well established work habits that can be used to set an example for the workforce.
  • Participates in hiring new employees for their shift.
  • Performs and documents new employee training in a timely manner.  Selects relevant topics and performs and documents on going training.
  • Evaluates individual job performance and recommends promotion, re-training or discipline as appropriate.
  • Delegates work assignments to efficiently operate the shift.
  • Assists in employee attendance record keeping (time cards, attendance sheets, etc.).
  • Interacts and communicates with all shifts in a professional and productive manner.
  • Interacts and communicates with other departments (Maintenance, Warehouse, etc.) in a professional and productive manner.
  • Establishes a good working relationship between shifts. 
  • Works to identify and eliminate friction and conflict between employees, shifts and departments.
  • Performs special assignments as needed.





  • cGMP
  • SOPs as required.
  • All PPE as required.
  • General Supervisory Training.
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.
  • Machine operation for all machines in department.



  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Must be able to lift 55lbs throughout the shift.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required.
  • May be required to operate a forklift.




  • Safety glasses as required.
  • Uniforms.
  • Hair nets.
  • Gloves.
  • “Dust” masks as needed.
  • Any other PPE as needed/required.




  • Works in an assembly facility with air borne particles.




  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
