 JOB SUMMARY 
 
The Quality Systems Specialist is an integral part of Glanbia’s quality process improvement and integration activities.  The role supports the evaluation of existing quality processes, and the successful implementation of change projects, system updates and enhancements.  The Quality Systems Associate will work with R&D and other interfacing departments to establish plant-level quality processes in a variety of multifunctional work streams.  The Associate will train and otherwise provide support to quality, laboratory and administrative staff.  Responsibilities include integration of new software solutions, and alignment of master data with customer and regulatory requirements.  The scope of activities encompass all quality change projects, with responsibility for monitoring and continuous improvement of new systems and processes. 
  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
  
•    Liaise with R&D and other quality-facing departments to manage change projects, providing direction and support to affected plant-level quality systems and processes.  These processes may include testing programs, product development, nonconformance, and other key quality functions. 
•    Assist in the design and evaluation of new and enhanced quality systems, and lead the integration of new systems into existing quality work streams.  Drive completion. 
•    Collaborate with GBS, R&D, Quality Stakeholders and other Systems Associates to identify and resolve integration issues. 
•    Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and Step Action Guides for new and enhanced quality systems and processes.  
•    Participate in the multifunctional validation of new and enhanced quality systems and associated processes. 
•    Develop training content and deliver relevant parts of the training to end users, ensuring new users have the appropriate level of education and training in the end-to-end process and system. 
•    Work with management and plant-level quality personnel to identify and address all change impacts including impacts on roles, changes to accountabilities and responsibilities. 
•    Work with management and plant-level quality personnel to ensure post go-live processes are functional, and to drive continuous improvement. 
•    Work with GBS and software systems vendors to ensure suitable ongoing maintenance of quality systems and databases. 
•    Identify changes required to existing master data – merging of master data, data clean up, data enrichment and data migration and ensure adequate resources are allocated to all data related activities.  
•    Assist with the test scripts necessary for the effective execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure that adequate capable resources are allocated to the testing activity.  
•    Lead and provide guidance for LIMS Users for LIMS interfacing with laboratory instrumentation and 3rd party contract labs.  Trains new LIMS users. 
•    Oversee daily operation and troubleshooting of the LIMS system, which includes master data creation and updates, COA corrections, analysis building and mapping to PDM, etc. 
•    Functions as PDM Key User for Quality. 
 
  
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS 
 
 
•    Strong process knowledge of the relevant process area and a good understanding of how systems enable the process. 
•    Keeping track of and providing regular updates to leadership on project status vs plan. 
•    Researching information as required. 
•    Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, assembling quotes, etc. 
•    Complete tasks assigned by Management in a timely manner 
•    Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that arise within the project 
•    Escalate any major issues that cannot be resolved within the work stream. 
•    A good understanding of Master Data and its use across all relevant process areas and how its structures are used to enable reporting. 
•    Strong project management skills, understanding interdependencies and risks. 
•    Proven ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and to work cross functionally. •     Highly proficient in Word, Powerpoint and Excel skills  
   
QUALIFICATIONS 
 
 
•    Minimum Bachelor of Science (BS) or equivalent degree in the field of science and technology  and three years related experience and/or training.   
•    Ability to effectively present information to corporate leadership 
•    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form 
•    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present multifunctional information in one-on-one and small group situations. 
•    Ability to understand and write step action guides. 
•    Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, SharePoint, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. 
•    Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Physical Demands 
•    Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting and the use of hands and fingers. 
•    Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms. 
•    Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

•    Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers. 
•    Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.

•    May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (office noise, manufacturing environments) 
 
 
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 
 
 
Regular overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
