Role Profile
A vacancy has arisen for the position of Maintenance Manager based in Clonroche Mill. The role reports to the Mill Manager. The primary focus of this position is to manage the maintenance function so as to ensure plant availability at all times without adversely affecting the health and safety of personnel on site, the integrity of plant equipment / machinery or the quality and safety of finished product. The Maintenance Manager’s role encompasses a number of functions which include responsibility for co-ordinating the Glanbia Risk Management System (to include all legislation pertinent to Health & Safety), Emergency Planning and Site Security. The Maintenance Manager is a key member of site management and as such will support Management colleagues in achieving the objectives and initiatives of the plant and the greater business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
- Plan and schedule planned and unplanned work in conjunction with Production
- Preparation of CAPEX documentation
- Installation of new equipment
- Monitor and control maintenance costs
- Diagnose breakdown problems and implementing preventative maintenance strategies
- Ensure supply of services
- Energy management
- Manage personnel (maintenance personnel)
- Manage and develop good relations with critical vendors
- Purchase engineering supplies and parts
- Manage and control critical and routine spare parts and equipment
- Timely calibration of plant equipment and instrumentation
- Co-ordinate GRMS and Health & Safety site activities and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation
- Ensure building and site security
- Report on own function (written reports and meetings)
- Prepare reports, analyse data and make recommendations for improving plant operations and resolving maintenance related problems
Key Requirements
- Engineering Degree – Focus on mechanical engineering (milling / grain plant equipment) with good knowledge of electrical principals, plc’s and process control.
- Maintenance role within a high pressure production environment
- Personnel management & Managing vendors
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and CAD
- Competent in creating professional reports
- Good diagnostic capability
- Competent in undertaking installation / repair work
- Work well under pressure
- Interested in updating own knowledge base and acquiring new skills
- Team player & work on own initiative
