Role Profile:

This is a new position reporting to the Head of Agri. Operations & Development with responsibility for all aspects of  Health , Safety & Environment within our retail operations which consists of 52 retail branches located in Leinster & Munster. The role will have responsibility for other aspects appropriate to the Agribusiness sector which are within the scope of the Head of Agri. Operations. The role is a hybrid role but will involve travel as a pre-requisite due to the geographical scope of retail operations. The purpose of the role is to drive Health & Safety culture and awareness in Agri business through the forum of continuous improvement and standardisation with the wider business EH&S agenda.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of all aspects of EH&S across the Business Unit.
  • EH&S reporting both internally and externally to relevant stakeholders including Business Unit Manager, Head of EH&S , External Stakeholders & the wider business.
  • EH&S Strategy for Agribusiness in conjunction with Agribusiness Leadership Team  and the central EH&S function.
  • Supporting, Advising and Coordinating all aspects of EH&S in conjunction with the Agribusiness Leadership structure.
  • Overall Management of accident & incident investigation processes and reporting.
  • Implementing & adapting EH&S Standards across the retail & agribusiness function in line with Central Tirlán Standards.
  • Oversight of management structure of all systems used for EH&S.
  • Ensuring Legal & Regulatory Compliance across the sites.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement & implementation of a standardised way of working for EH&S.
  • H&S Lead & ORP on all business sustaining & developing projects relating to the Agribusiness.
  • Liaising with all internal and external relevant stakeholders on all matters relating to EH&S.
  • Developing standards and systems in conjunction with the Head of EH&S and the EH&S Leadership Team.
  • Ensuring Development of a Positive H&S Culture across Agribusiness.
  • Supporting the Business Excellence Programme across Agribusiness.
  • Management of all potential environmental complaints or environmental related incidents.
  • Adapting Environmental Standards and procedures in line with Tírlán’s Environmental & ESG strategy

 

Key Requirements:

  • Third level qualification in a Science, Health & Safety, Food, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline 
  • 5 years experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety role in the dairy, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, preferably at managerial level 
  • Results driven with high performance capability in a fast-moving challenging business environment 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with an innate ability to collaborate with people
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement within a lean manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
