This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the start-up of Kilkenny Cheese Limited. Kilkenny Cheese is a joint venture between Tirlán and Dutch family business Royal A-ware, a 130-year-old company with strong positions in EU and global markets. The facility is to be located at a greenfield site adjacent to Tirlán’s specialised nutrition facility at Belview, Co Kilkenny.

Role Summary

Based in Belview in South Kilkenny this roles reports to the Supply Chain Manager and plans, organises and coordinates logistics activities in alignment with production schedules. This position is tasked with accurately scheduling all transport activities without incurring waste or impeding objectives. This role necessitates continually balancing and rebalancing transport resources and managing the movement of materials(Crates/Pallets/Reefers/Air Bags etc.) to guarantee that our customer is receiving the finished product in the require state, on time and in full.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with KC designated Freight forwarder in the movement of finished product from KC Facility to the final destination.
  • Manage the creation of paperwork for all despatches both inside and outside the EU making sure that we align to all regulatory requirements (EUR1 Forms, Health Certs, CMR documents etc.).
  • Working with the Supply Chain Team to develop a transport plan for weekly/monthly/quarterly based on a production forecast.
  • Weekly communication with KC designated Freight Forwarder confirming transport plan weekly/monthly/quarterly.
  • Working with the Warehousing team, making sure that all sales orders are being despatched as planned and on time.
  • Carrying out all administration task on M3 when despatching reefers (creation of CMR’s, making sure production dates are aligned on paperwork, uploading final despatch details from M3 to Samskip Portal)
  • Monitoring our freight forwarders delivery plan to final destinations, making sure that all deliveries are on time as planned.
  • Monitoring the temperature of reefers during transport based on information provided by our Freight forwarders and KC data Loggers.
  • Monitoring and communicating with Royal-Aware team on a weekly basis requesting the return of empty crates making sure that they are being unloaded and returned within the agreed time frame.
  • Carry out the daily administrative tasks on the ERP system (M3), making sure that all transactions are being carried out in a timely manner.
  • Manage the administration of files and keeping them up to date showing key metrics around current logistics forecasts, plans and actual.
  • Coordinating with the Buyer/Planners and warehousing teams when planning the receipt of materials into the KC warehouse.
  • Communicate with Logistics companies on a daily and weekly basis, around logistics transport to and from Kilkenny Cheese.
  • Attending Tiered meetings, gathering relevant information and reporting back to the Supply Chain team of actions that need to be carried out by Supply Chain Department.
  • Attending weekly and monthly Supply Chain meetings.
  • Communicating on a daily basis with the transport company shunting our Reefers to and from KC Dock to Waterford port.
  • Monitor and maintain the service level KPI’s for the Supply Chain function, and presenting to the supply chain team at the daily and weekly SC meetings.
  • Responsible for the order process within Export including entering orders, coordinating with planning and  arrangement shipments
  • Responsible for requesting and drafting all export documents and veterinary inspections
  • Liaising with customers, agencies and colleagues by email and telephone

 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Capable of working with cross functional teams to deliver accurate consensus forecasts.
  • Excellent computer skills and good command of Excel
  • Exceptional analytical skills; good attention to detail and well organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Dairy or similar food processing industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Previous experience in a logistic role would be desirable
  • Additional language is desirable
