MRP Planner
This role is hybrid – offices based in Kilkenny
Overview
The MRP Planner reports to the Production Planning Manager (Consumer & Ingredients) and is responsible for planning and sequencing all components that satisfy the finished goods manufacturing schedule. Working closely with Production Planning, Purchasing and Plant personnel, the primary activity is to ensure that the ingredients and packaging requirements to meet a time-phased finished goods production schedule are present when required, in the correct format.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilise system-based MRP to create and maintain purchase orders to meet production needs at component level
- Manage inventory to optimise safety stock and safety time management practices, warehousing requirements, and working capital impact(s)
- Liaise with Purchasing to consider external vendor inputs and outputs to determine options for component management regarding hubbing, consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, lot-sizing arrangements, lead times etc.
- Routinely review demand vs. supply to manage and communicate supply risks
- Analyse data to drive insights to inform decision making across key stakeholder groups
- Maintain accurate system master data
- Support new material introductions and manage delists
- Provide forecasts to suppliers as required
- Identify and implement process improvements to maximize levels of efficiency. Contribute to implementation of both business sustaining and strategic projects
Key Requirements
- Supply Chain or Materials / Production planning experience
- Third level qualification in a relevant area such as Supply Chain, Finance or Operations.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Enthusiastic and energetic attitude.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to deal with competing priorities.
- Experience in the use of SAP planning tools is desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- APICS/IIPMM qualified is advantageous.
