Role Profile
The Milk Solids Growth Specialist reports into the Milk Solids Growth Manager and is responsible for growing milk solids production with suppliers through developing and implementing nutritional programmes as well as educating farmer facing teams in their region on The Tirlán Milks Solids Growth Programme.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Tirlán Milk Solids Growth Programme in a geographical region.
- Use milk data analysis to identify target suppliers with potential to improve milk solids.
- Develop and implement farm specific nutritional plans to optimize milk solids production which will range from indoor diet formulation to improved grassland management.
- Advocate and prioritize grass utilization in the cows’ diets to increase milk solids.
- Work closely with milk suppliers to understand their herd management practices.
- Provide expert advice and support to farmers on nutritional best practices.
- Monitor and analyze milk solids production data to assess the effectiveness of nutritional strategies and make necessary adjustments.
- Prepare detailed reports on herd performance and nutritional status.
- Educate suppliers on the principles of ruminant nutrition and its impact on milk solids production.
- Organize workshops and training sessions to disseminate knowledge and best practices to both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with farmer facing team in your region to continuously upskill the team in best nutritional practices.
- Work with marketing to promote The Tirlán Milk Solids Programme in their area.
- Ensure all nutritional programmes comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Experience of working in the agricultural or animal nutrition industries
- Working knowledge of EU legislation governing feed materials and feed additives in animal nutrition
- Experience of using formulation software packages for animal nutrition
- Experience in best grass land management practices
