Role Profile
We are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant position within the Accounting & Reporting (“A&R”) team to play a key role in a SAP Group Reporting system implementation project. This role is ideally suited to a finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and an interest in finance transformation, systems implementation and process optimisation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future-state Group reporting environment, supporting design, testing, validation and change management activities across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of the new Group Reporting and Consolidation solution.
- Support definition of future-state reporting requirements, including chart of accounts, consolidation structures, account mapping, reporting templates, and disclosure requirements.
- Participate in process mapping, documenting current vs. future-state consolidation and reporting workflows
- Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including scenario design, testing execution, results documentation, and remediation actions
- Perform data validation, including trial balance loads, mapping accuracy, intercompany reporting tests, and opening balance conversion
- Support the development of a strengthened controls and governance framework within the new reporting environment
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Finance, IT, project managers, and external advisors to ensure accurate delivery of project milestones
- Prepare training materials, process documentation, SOPs, and contribute to end‑user training and post‑implementation support.
- Participate in project governance forums, providing clear updates on risks, timelines, dependencies, and testing outcomes.
Requirements
- Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
- 2 to 3 years post qualification experience ideally in a multinational organisation or professional practice which specialised in consulting for system implementations
- Strong financial reporting (IAS/IFRS) background and risk management experience
- Prior experience in finance transformation, systems implementation, or process optimisation highly desirable
- Experience of ERP systems, SAP & Data Warehousing platforms (or similar)
- Strong project mindset with excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including report writing.
- Ability to interpret complex financial and commercial issues and clearly communicate proposals to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across finance, IT and project teams and influence at multiple levels.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong capability with systems or reporting tools
- Prior experience working with SAP Group Reporting or experience with the implementation of a consolidation system in a complex ERP environment desirable.
