Role Profile
We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team at our Ballyragget site, the largest integrated milk processing facility in Europe. Here, you'll work in our Whey plant as a Production Shift Manager, working 12 hour shifts across weekdays and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Promote & implement best practice Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Adherence to product safety and legality standards, and ensure 100% quality in our product
- Bring resolution to deviations in Whey plant Metrics with robust CAPA
- Proactively communicate with operators through informal discussions and team briefs to ensure a two way flow of relevant, timely information
- Manage the staff roster with the area manager by reviewing production requirements and tracking holidays / absenteeism to ensure adequate resourcing
- Act as a cross-plant point of contact for unforeseen events as part of night shift duties
- Give feedback on KPI performance through regular communication at 3M Meetings to ensure operators are informed and are aware of areas for improvement
- Manage your area in line with GMP and assume responsibility for internal hygiene audits and external customer/third party audits when required
- Identify and implement process improvements that can deliver maximum benefits to the business using lean manufacturing principles, in line with our Business Excellence approach. Actively identify and participate in activities/projects focusing on innovation and improvement in production methods/processes
- Manage projects as required
- Prepare PIRs for capex projects as required
- Undertake all other duties as required by manager / business to meet production and customer requirements.
- Understand and apply HR policies and procedures
- Management reporting and meetings
Requirements
- 2 – 3 years experience in a production environment within a processing industry
- Aptitude for operational processes, working with cross- functional teams, lean and continuous improvement
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with excellent planning/scheduling skills
- Demonstrate high technical ability and attention to detail to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite & a working knowledge of SAP). Working knowledge of IQS/MES an advantage
- Strong communications with multi-functional stakeholders
- Knowledge of Dairy products, processes and recipes an advantage
