The Opportunity
The Category & Pricing Manager plays a key role in managing and executing price and promotion strategy across all brand groups and categories. This position is responsible for optimizing promotional activities, conducting regular performance assessments, and driving strategic decisions to ensure competitive pricing, market growth, and alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Category Portfolio management
- Ensure category portfolio performance meets business objectives and drive action to address underperforming segments.
- Analyze and monitor the performance of key product categories, identifying trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Leverage available data sources to conduct detailed analysis on brand and portfolio performance.
- Pricing Guidelines for All Brand Groups and Categories:
- Develop, maintain, and implement pricing guidelines for various product categories and brand groups.
- Ensure pricing consistency across different channels and markets, factoring in competitive dynamics, cost structures, and profitability goals.
- Monitor competitor pricing across key categories and brands.
- Promotional strategy:
- Manage the annual trade calendar, collaborating with internal teams (sales, marketing, supply chain) to ensure all promotions and initiatives are strategically aligned.
- Assess the effectiveness of trade promotions, including ROI and customer engagement and optimize accordingly .
- Provide post-promotion reports, suggesting improvements for future campaigns.
- Daily Monitoring & Performance Action:
- Monitor daily sales, inventory levels, and trade activities across categories and brands.
- Take proactive actions to address performance issues and optimize outcomes, adjusting pricing and promotional strategies as necessary.
- Team management:
- Lead and inspire the pricing specialist and the pricing intern on a daily basis
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field (Master's degree is a plus)
- Proven experience (5+ years) in pricing strategy, trade marketing, or commercial operations
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Nielsen, Excel, Tableau)
- Experience in e-commerce and digital marketing channels
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
