Assistant Financial Controller

 

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will support the Accounting and Control  function of Glanbia Nutritionals Ireland. This person will play a leading role in ensuring the integrity of financial processes and financial and management reporting for the GN division with key responsibility for the reporting of monthly  and year end accounts. Emphasis is on providing timely, relevant and accurate information in a dynamic environment, where accurate information is paramount and essential in supporting operational and strategic decision-making.   This role will report to the Nutritionals Solutions International and Integrations Director. This opportunity will offer scope for a career minded individual to progress and develop their career within the organization.

 

  • Accurate, timely preparation and submission of monthly and year-end financial and management accounts and reporting packs to Group and Senior Management
  • Manage and provide support to Accounting & Finance Associate (Direct report)
  • Provide analysis and supporting information to assist management teams in understanding business performance and decision making
  • Ensure that the required accounting control procedures are in place and are effective.  This includes the control and reconciliation of the Balance Sheet in line with Glanbia procedures
  • Manage and review the monthly inventory  reconciliations and liaise with relevant BU stakeholders
  • Review of weekly cash forecasts for the business unit
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities to enhance and improve controls, systems and processes in line with evolving business needs
  • Responsible for providing information for statutory reporting, external audit and tax compliance
  • Play a leading role in the  budget and forecasting cycles for the business with associated reporting and controls
  • Support financial process and systems improvement activity ensuring all Glanbia financial planning and reporting processes are optimized and aligned with overall reporting structure

 

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
  • Qualified accountant with 3-5 years post-qualification experience ideally in a multinational organisation or medium to large practice.
  • Strong financial reporting (IAS/IFRS) background.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of ERP systems, SAP & Data Warehousing platforms (or similar) and report design would be an advantage.
