The Opportunity 

 

This role has been created to oversee and ensure the data quality, accuracy, validation and controls, regarding Glanbia Nutritionals sustainability reporting in the context of increased regulatory and  commercial demands. The Finance Manager - Sustainability will be a key player in ensuring that Glanbia aligns with mandatory reporting disclosures including those outlined within the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) while also responding to increased customer demands for specific data requests as part of their value chain. This candidate will become part of the sustainability leadership team in GN, influencing strategy and direction of the program. This permanent position will report to the VP of Finance Operations.

 

  • Oversight of processes to ensure reliable data and standardized supporting work processes, policies, procedures, and controls. Actively look for opportunities to improve current processes. 
  • Oversight of the month end close process for sustainability items for all GN locations, in line with agreed procedures.
  • The gatekeeper of all GN data requests regarding sustainability. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure that data communicated out is consistent and is collected and reported as efficiently as possible.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to; implement process and control improvements, collate site/business unit reports and contribute to Group and external reporting requirements. Key stakeholders include SVP Sustainability (and team), VP Engineering and EHS (and team), Head of ESG Governance and Reporting (and team) as well as the Operations Finance teams.
  • Coordinate analytical review analysis, tracking data results against forecast / targets feeding into BU and Group level reports. Use data to track trends and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Build relationships and coordinate efforts to support integration of Glanbia’s sustainability strategy – including sustainability, finance, operations, commercial, IT, procurement, internal audit and ESG reporting.
  • Support /be a solution provider to specific sustainability project requirements / disclosure requirements. Proactively engaging in the process to drive continuous improvement.  Gathering and reviewing variances in period data to drive better reporting and refining the estimations and assumptions process. 
  • Communicate and provide training/support to the site personnel / SME’s to ensure a consistent Group standard is implemented and maintained.
  • Help support the integration of acquisitions into sustainability reporting – partnering with sites, streamlining data and requests relevant for sustainability reporting.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external auditors to coordinate their review, oversight, and assurance of sustainability reporting.  Act as the primary audit contact for onsite reviews, working as the intermediary between the sites and the external auditors.
  • Partner with procurement on regional strategy for renewable energy credit purchases, and appropriate planning and forecasting. 

 

The Skills you will bring to the team 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years’ experience within finance or accounting. Experience within sustainability reporting is preferred. 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Initiative and ability to work in team environment
  • Driven, energetic results oriented individual with the ability to thrive under pressurized conditions
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Drives excellent performance without being close supervised.
  • High degree of personal, commercial and professional credibility
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
