The Opportunity 

The Commercial Finance Analyst acts as a key business partner to Commercial and Product Management teams across Nutrition/Premix, Bakery, and Film & Glitter segments. This role assists with financial planning and profitability analysis, supporting budgets, forecasts, and customer performance reviews. This position delivers timely, accurate financial insights to support sales and profit targets, and ensures clear reporting and actionable analysis to enable data-driven decisions and business growth.

 

Essential Functions

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze Gross Margin and Gross Profit to determine impact caused by volume, selling prices, material costs and/or production costs.
  • Prepare month-end report pack and presentation decks for Executive management, including accurate and timely financial reporting for the business unit and various weekly/monthly reports.
  • Track and report risks and opportunities facing the business, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Compare actual results against business plan, forecast, and prior year, and prepare/distribute variance analysis to executive management.
  • Ensure consistency and simplicity of financial models/reports.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts with input from Commercial, Supply Chain and Operations, including projections by major customers, product categories, and Account Managers.
  • Financial support of Budget roll-up using a bottom-up data approach.
  • Pricing & Costing:
  • Complete RFP’s and work with PSM on customer pricing, including assisting with product pricing and costing analysis as assigned.
  • Build understanding of standard costing system, and associated production overhead allocations.
  • Month-end Close
  • Period-end close responsibilities, including monitoring of accruals, analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast, and assisting with closing tasks and reporting as assigned.

Business Partnering:

  • Serve as point of contact for all Commercial questions related to business unit financials.
  • Partner with the Commercial and Product Management on financial analyses for long-term product strategy.
  • Partner with PSM and commercial on day to day pricing requests, and annual RFP’s and support the work of the pricing/financial analyst onsite.
  • Build financial “what-if” type analysis to support leadership decision making.

 

Other:

  • Assist with resolving SAP and BI issues to facilitate reporting.
  • Responsible for process improvement and standardization in assigned areas.
  • Assist in the preparation of Internal and External audit requirements.

 

 

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience.
  • Ability to effectively present financial information.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively time manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work to and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all level of the organization.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who can identify issues/opportunities for improvement and be proactive in addressing them.
  • Moderate overnight travel (up to 5%) by land and/or air.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.  Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in IL. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.  The annual salary for IL based employees for this role is $65k-80K with an annual bonus.
