The Opportunity 

An opportunity has arisen for a SAP Planning applications lead to join the organisation and help drive the systemisation of financial planning and other similar processes in Glanbia. 

This role will report into the Head of the CoE for BI and Data Analytics and will be responsible for maintenance and enhancement of the SAP technologies that support financial planning and similar processes at Glanbia. The SAP planning applications lead will also play a key technical architecture role in the on-going multi-year programme to systemise the financial planning processes across the organisation. 

This is a high-profile role and will be critical to the success of bringing efficiencies and new capabilities to Glanbia. 

The role will be aligned to our Dublin or Kilkenny offices but can be hybrid. 

Job Responsibilities  

• Ownership of the SAP SAC Planning and SAP IP applications in Glanbia, 

• Lead the technical architecture for all enhancements and solution developments on the SAP planning applications, 

• Support the financial budgeting and planning processes across Glanbia, 

• Management of the financial planning applications team, including programme delivery, capability development, resource allocation. 

• Work closely with our implementation partners to ensure all new planning applications are robust, follow best practice and meet the business requirements. (We are partnering with a 3rd party organisation for the group wide transformation programme) 

• Work closely with our managed service partners to ensure all planning processes managed by them are run efficiently and without issue. 

• Understand Glanbia financial planning processes and data, 

• Work with Head of CoE and Head of Digital Finance to define the strategy for financial planning applications in Glanbia, including the introduction of new capabilities to the organisation as technologies continue to evolve, 

• Look for opportunities across the group to leverage SAP SAC Planning in related processes and functions, 

• Work closely with BI and Data Analytics leads to maximise the value of budget and planning data in reporting and analytics solutions. 

• Work closely with SAP Finance systems team to ensure data structures and enhancements to these are aligned with the financial planning application requirements. 

• Support PN Financial Planning Cycles with responsibility for execution of key activities 

• Stakeholder Engagement – Partner with FP&A and senior finance stakeholders to translate enhancement requests into functional/technical specification.  

 Qualification & Experience Requirements 

• Relevant 3rd level education 

• 7+ years working with financial planning applications including experience in managing systems implementations from a technical stand point. 

• Experience in SAP IP or SAC planning, 

• Experience working with managed service providers would be preferred, 

• Experience with financial / accounting data structures. 

• Accountancy background is not mandatory but would be considered favourably, 

• Experience in managing a team of SAP analysts 

• Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for understanding complex business processes and functions. 

• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple projects or applications at the same time. 

• Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence across diverse technical and business streams. 

• Strong leadership skills.
