Position Summary:

We have an exciting new role for a Commercial Capability Manager to drive the development and deployment of world-class commercial capabilities across our organization. This role will lead the creation, deployment, and adoption of selling models, commercial and category tools, and training programs that elevate performance across Sales, Category Strategy, and General Management.

 

Key Responsibilities for this Commercial Capability Manager:

Capability Strategy, Design, & Deployment

  • Define and evolve the commercial capability strategy aligned to business priorities to support accelerated business growth.
  • Identify critical skills, behaviors, and mindsets required for success in commercial roles to shape training approach.
  • Lead the design and rollout of a standardized selling model, including foundational principles, objection handling, and coaching frameworks.
  • Develop and deploy commercial tools (e.g., customer planning, joint business planning) and category tools (e.g., assortment, shelving, pricing frameworks).
  • Facilitate training and embed ways of working to ensure consistent utilization of tools and models that drive business outcomes.
  • Act as a coach for teams in preparation for important customer meetings

Training & Learning Strategy

  • Own the commercial training agenda for Sales, including onboarding, ongoing training needs, specialized training, and experiential learning programs.
  • Partner with centers of excellence and functional leaders to deliver training and assessments on key topics such as Selling and Negotiation, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), financial discipline, category strategy
  • Administer and analyze Sales and GM capability assessments on a regular cadence to inform development plans and succession strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Brand, RGM, Customer Planning & Strategy, and Category Management and HR leaders to ensure alignment and adoption.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and capability forums to drive engagement and feedback.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on commercial talent development.

Measurement & Impact

  • Define KPIs to measure capability growth and business impact.
  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of capability programs and iterate as needed.
  • Report progress to executive stakeholders and recommend strategic adjustments.

Strategic Collaboration & Influence

  • Collaborate with HR, Learning & Development, and business leaders to integrate capability building into career pathing and performance management.
  • Serve as a thought partner to senior leaders, helping define “what good looks like” across commercial roles and levels.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and forums to drive alignment and continuous improvement.

Future-Focused Enablement

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to ensure our commercial teams are future-ready.
  • Identify critical knowledge areas and curate the right content, experiences, and learning channels to keep teams informed and competitive.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or similar
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial roles within CPG (Ex: Sales, Brand, Category Management, Customer Planning & Strategy, etc.)
  • Proven success in capability building, training design, and deployment at scale.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles; the annual salary for this role is $105,000 - $130,000 plus an annual bonus. This range may not be applicable to other locations and targeted salary is midpoint of range. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
