The Glanbia Performance Nutrition Logistics Transportation Administrator I at Glanbia (Downers Grove) is responsible for managing all Inbound & Transfer shipment activity for Performance Nutrition (PN), ensuring all operations adhere to budget constraints while developing recovery models to drive bottom-line savings and revenue generation. This role serves as a critical problem-solving agent, coordinating and tracking domestic and international freight via TMS software and managing essential documentation such as Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and HTS-coded customs forms. The successful candidate will maintain inventory and data integrity within SAP ERP systems, utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) to ensure accurate API synchronization. Additionally, the individual will support the Logistics Manager in 3PL vendor and carrier relations, resolving scheduling or payment issues and filing cargo claims, all while maintaining strict compliance with DOT and U.S. Export Regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Freight & Shipment Management: Oversee all Inbound & STO transfer shipment activity for PN Performance Nutrition. Coordinate tracking, tracing, appts and tender acceptance to ensure 95%+ On-Time Delivery (OTD) and On-Time Pickup (OTP).
- Systems Administration (TMS/SAP): Maintain logistics master data with high accuracy. Manage the flow of TMS transactions and ensure SAP ERP data integrity via API links. Some Manual shipment creation may be required.
- Financial & Audit Oversight: Manage TMS DTO (Freight Pay & Audit) processing. Provide monthly freight reconciliations to Finance/Accounting to establish landed cost activities.
- Compliance & Claims: Prepare and audit critical export documents and HTS classifications with a zero-error target. Resolve 3PL cargo claims within a 30-day cycle and manage carrier payment discrepancies.
- Team Support & Development: Develop and maintain departmental training manuals. Serve as a backup for the transportation planning function and stay current on DOT and U.S. Export regulations.
- Performance and TMS Management: Maintain 90% + SRG Strategic Routing Guide Adherence on FTL and develop a streamlines approach to LCP Methodology on LTL Shipments.
- Rate and Carrier Development: Responsible under the Senior Logistics Manager to help develop monthly new FTL SRG guides and carriers to support the roots to market structure.
- All other Tasks Assigned: Willing to be flexible and take on new tasks and assignments should the need arise.
Success Criteria (KPIs)
- Budget Efficiency: Perform to new ABP Budget guidelines and help Identify 3-5% in annual bottom-line savings through recovery models and strict budgetary adherence.
- Data Accuracy: Achieve 99% accuracy in ERP data entry and API synchronization.
- Vendor Performance: Resolve 90% of carrier discrepancies independently before escalating to the Logistics Manager.
- Regulatory Precision: Maintain a zero-error rate on all DOT and international trade documentation.
- Savings Report: Report on all savings figures to Senior Logistics Manager to be reported into the WAVE program weekly.
Technical Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
- System Experience: Hands-on experience with SAP and Uber Freight (TMS).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with HTS codes, DOT standards, and global transportation trends.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Professional Experience: 5-7 years + of dedicated transportation planning experience, specifically managing a freight spend of $5-10M + personally.
- FTL & IM Expertise: 5-7 years + experience in FTL and IM Management, including Network Proficiency and Design.
- LTL Expertise: 3-4 years + of experience in LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) Management, including proficiency in NMFC reporting and rate negotiations.
- Certification: Hazmat Certification is considered a strong plus.
- Certification: Certificate in Transportation and Logistics from APICS a strong Plus
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Advanced Computing: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to build complex reporting, Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUPs).
- Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to apply advanced concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world logistics data and budgetary recovery models.
- Systems Knowledge: Strong ability to interpret complex instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Negotiation Power: Firm ability with Senior Logistics Manager to negotiate rates with 3PLs and carriers and provide data-driven recommendations for vendor contracts.
- Accountability: Proven track record of providing clear direction to suppliers and holding them accountable to Glanbia's performance standards.
- Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines in a self-directed environment.
