An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the Finance Information Risk Management (FIRM) Team. The role will be based in Kilkenny, with a hybrid working arrangement available through our Smart Working model, offering greater flexibility and work‑life balance. This is a one‑year fixed-term contract, and the role will report directly to the Manager of the Finance Information Risk Management Team.

Role Summary
The Financial Accountant will become a knowledge expert and business partner on Glanbia financial statements and systems which are deployed across the Group. The role will drive the maintenance and enhancement of global finance documentation, policies and systems used to manage and control finance change for Glanbia entities worldwide. The role requires regular engagement with stakeholders at all levels across the Group, the Finance Transformation Team (FTT) and within the FIRM team.
Key Elements of the Role
- Become a knowledge expert on the Group’s SAP S/4 HANA ERP and Consolidated Financial Statements and finance systems deployed across the Group.
- Become a knowledge expert on specific areas of the Group’s existing financial policies and procedures and apply this knowledge to continual analysis and review of the Group’s finance system settings, identifying enhancements and assisting in related projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Group finance information policies and procedures and, as a FIRM business partner, engage in proactive and effective communication with accountants and stakeholders across the Group’s Business Units (BUs) to maintain this compliance.
- Own and drive the continual improvement of the Global Finance Information Sharepoint Portal and support in the management of the FIRM team mailbox.
- Manage and maintain the accuracy and relevance of a suite of finance governance forms supporting Global Finance BAU and project change, including finance mapping, organisational files and process documentation for integrated systems such as Blackline, Concur and Ariba.
- Ensure compliance with the global SAP Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) finance process, including ownership of the finance access authorisation request process.
- Support the Finance Transformation Team on finance‑led projects and continuous improvement initiatives, providing subject‑matter expertise on finance systems, governance and controls.
Qualifications
- Recognised professional accounting qualification required and retained membership of the relevant accounting body.
Skills & Experience
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong hands-on SAP FICO or similar ERP experience (SAP S/4HANA, chart of accounts transformation/change or system project experience a distinct advantage).
- Proven experience in financial control process improvement and development, preferably in a multi-functional or global environment.
- Experience with Microsoft collaboration tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and exposure to AI‑enabled tools within a professional environment is desirable.
