The opportunity

The GES IT Finance Business Partner acts as the strategic financial advisor to IT and Digital leaders within the Glanbia Enterprise Solutions division.  The role is responsible for driving financial transparency, optimizing IT spend, supporting investment decision‑making, and ensuring alignment between IT strategy, business outcomes, and financial performance.

 

This position bridges Finance, IT, and GES operations, enabling value realization, cost efficiency, and disciplined Finance governance across run, grow, and transform initiatives.

The role reports to the Financial Controller. The role office base will be located Dublin or Kilkenny.

 

Strategic Finance Partnership

  • Act as the primary finance partner to IT and Digital leadership teams
  • Translate IT strategy and roadmaps into clear financial plans, business cases, and value narratives.
  • Influence decision‑making by providing insights on cost, value, risk, and return on investment.
  • Contribute to, build and participate in presenting and storytelling associated with service catalogue recharges capturing business value across multiple business segments for multiple service platforms.

Month end and Financial Planning & Forecasting (FP&A)

  • Involvement in financial close as well as monthly review of actual v. forecast P&L recoveries and OPEX spend, capital spend and cash flow with GBS senior IT Leadership Team and Group Finance
  • Lead IT budget planning, forecasting, and long‑range financial modelling (OPEX and CAPEX).
  • Manage multi‑year IT investment plans aligned to GES and enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with IT to manage demand planning and capacity cost drivers for the PMO and Operations.

Cost Management & Optimization

  • Drive cost transparency across applications, infrastructure, cloud, and services.
  • In conjunction with the IT leadership Identify and deliver cost optimization opportunities (e.g., vendor rationalization, cloud optimization, automation).
  • Track benefits realization for IT and digital transformation initiatives.

Business Case & Investment Governance

  • Develop and review business cases for IT initiatives, including ROI, NPV, and payback analysis.
  • Support portfolio prioritization and investment governance forums.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, capitalization rules, and approval thresholds.

Performance Reporting & Insights

  • Design and deliver clear, actionable IT financial reporting and dashboards.
  • Monitor spend vs. plan, highlight risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide insights into costs, service consumption, and value delivered. 

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior IT, GES, and Finance stakeholders.
  • Support financial aspects of vendor negotiations, contracts, and renewals.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Accounting, and Controllership teams.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and financial governance standards.
  • Support audits and ensure accurate financial treatment of IT spend.

 

The skills you will bring to the team

  • Professional qualified accountant either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent and retain membership of the relevant accounting body
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, or Business Partnering roles.
  • Strong experience supporting IT, Digital, or Technology organizations in a large enterprise
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Influencing skills and comfort operating at senior leadership level.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • High level of business acumen and problem‑solving capability.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation or large IT programs.
