Financial Accountant Team Lead
The opportunity
We are searching for a Financial Accountant Team Lead who has the energy, enthusiasm, drive and vision to join Glanbia Enterprise Solution (GES) Services. This is a permanent role and will report to the Finance Manager.

- Lead and motivate a Finance team.
- Providing continuous leadership and coaching to the team, ensuring delivery of KPIs, personal development objectives and achievement of career objectives where possible.
- Liaise and work closely with fellow team members within the GES finance services function and also across functions both internal and external to GES.
- Fixed Asset Accounting – depreciation runs, variance analysis, asset creations, disposals, impairment reviews and monthly reconciliations preparation and/or review.
- Investigate intercompany variances and review reconciliation of intercompany accounts on behalf of a number of company codes across the Group in line with strict reporting timelines.
- Forecast and budget planning, as well as performing month end close on behalf of our Shared Services business unit.
- Review, improve, automate and implement standardised processes on a continuous rolling basis
- Ensure compliance with Group Accounting Manual/ Policies
- Review and sign-off of bank reconciliations across the Glanbia Group on a weekly basis
- Consistent and regular stakeholder engagement
- Lead ad hoc finance related projects with the potential to impact the wider Glanbia Plc Group.
The skills you will bring to the team
- Recognised Professional Accounting Qualification required and retained membership of the relevant accounting body
- Big 4 trained and if not, have at least 2 years’ industry experience working in a similar role
- Previous experience leading a team is essential
- Proven leadership capability
- Experience with forecasting, budget planning and cash reporting is desirable.
- Proven ability to work on your own initiative to deliver projects as an individual and as part of a team
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder engagement and relationships
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and subsequently initiate and lead the change process
- Strong financial reporting, problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point
- Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and organize work tasks
- Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with accounting software packages – SAP preferential but not essential
