The Opportunity 

 

The Production Team Lead oversees daily production operations, coach and develop hourly employees, identify and implement process optimization projects. Provide the leadership that ensures all employees on shift can improve and sustain a zero loss work culture that drives out injuries and ensures products are safe and meet quality specifications. Manage all aspects of shift plant operation ensuring budget, output, and continuous improvement by engaging all employees.

  • Support plant leadership in achieving production, quality, safety, and cost objectives while meeting budget and schedule requirements.
  • Enforce plant safety programs and Glanbia non‑negotiables to ensure a safe workplace and zero-loss culture.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, SOPs, and all applicable FDA, USDA, and state regulations to maintain food safety and product quality.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities, shift coverage, and workforce assignments.
  • Conduct audits, inventory checks, sampling, and daily standard work to ensure operational excellence and SOP adherence.
  • Partner with maintenance to develop preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot equipment issues, and manage emergency repairs.
  • Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and shipping teams to ensure efficient material flow and on-time delivery.
  • Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees through performance feedback, PDPs, training, and disciplinary or attendance processes as needed.
  • Oversee equipment operation using centerline controls and performance reporting systems to drive efficiency.
  • Communicate plant performance through daily reviews, staff meetings, and professional written and verbal communication.

  

 

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication & Documentation: Ability to read, interpret, and develop safety rules, operating procedures, manuals, and routine reports; communicate effectively with employees and customers in both written and verbal formats.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Strong ability to analyze practical problems, interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and apply sound judgment in environments with limited standardization.
  • Technical & Analytical Aptitude: Proficient in mathematical concepts including percentages, proportions, algebra, and basic geometry to support operational and production activities.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead by example, share knowledge, prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, delegate responsibilities, and contribute to team and organizational goals.
  • Technology & Safety Compliance: Intermediate proficiency with personal computer applications (email, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing) while consistently adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
