Reporting to the Head of Tax, the successful candidate will play a leading role in supporting the Group's financing arrangements, tax reporting and corporate restructuring activities. The role involves working directly with senior stakeholders across the organisation and offers an opportunity to manage a broad range of complex tax matters across the Group.

Working closely with colleagues in the Group Tax team and in Finance, Treasury, Legal, Group Secretariat and Corporate Development, the successful candidate will take primary responsibility for the tax aspects of the Group's financing structures, legal entity reorganisations and compliance projects. The successful candidate will support the Head of Tax in evaluating strategic tax initiatives while taking a lead role in the execution of significant tax and corporate transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to commercially important projects, work closely with senior management and play a key role in the continued development of Group Tax’s agenda and the wider Glanbia strategic ambition.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments impacting Group financing structures and ensuring continued compliance with Irish tax requirements and the Group's obligations under Pillar Two.
  • Management of tax aspects of internal reorganisations, legal entity restructuring projects and other corporate simplification initiatives (planning and execution of, for example, share-for-undertaking transfers, share exchanges, mergers by absorption).
  • Supporting the Head of Tax in identifying, evaluating and implementing tax planning opportunities aligned with the Group's commercial and strategic objectives. Progressively assuming direct responsibility for delivering projects from design through implementation.
  • Preparing detailed forecasts of current and deferred tax charges, and cash tax payments for your portfolio of legal entities; computation of those entities’ actual current and deferred tax charge for consolidated and statutory reporting purposes.
  • Preparing and maintaining high-quality tax technical papers, memoranda and supporting documentation to substantiate tax positions adopted by the Group.
  • Providing technical corporation tax support and practical guidance to business divisions, finance teams and other stakeholders on a broad range of tax matters arising in the ordinary course of business.
  • Supporting tax audits, enquiries and reviews by tax authorities, including the preparation of supporting documentation and responses to technical queries.
  • Working closely with Finance, Treasury, Legal, Corporate Development and external advisers to ensure tax considerations are appropriately reflected in commercial, financing and restructuring transactions.
  • Contributing to the Group's broader strategic initiatives, including business expansion projects, operating model changes, supply chain initiatives and acquisition, disposal and integration activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Group tax processes, governance and documentation standards, while supporting the continued development of the Group Tax function.
  • Progressively assuming direct responsibility for significant tax planning and strategic projects, acting as the tax lead for designated initiatives and delivering projects from design through implementation.

The skills you will bring to the team:

  • Third-level degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or another relevant discipline.
  • Professional qualification in both Accounting and Tax (i.e., ACA/ACCA & AITI) is essential, together with current membership of the relevant professional bodies.
  • Big Four experience and/or significant experience in a multinational corporate tax environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish and international corporation tax principles, with the ability to apply that knowledge to complex commercial, financing and restructuring transactions.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience of SAP and Alphatax would be an advantage.

  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to balance technical tax considerations with wider business objectives.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a dynamic environment, and ensure tasks are finalised to strict deadlines.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across the Group Tax team, Group Finance, Treasury, Legal and business teams.
