Job Summary
|
Responsible for the accurate order picking, loading of products, and receiving orders, to include unloading and storing products. Coordinates the receiving of raw ingredients as well as the shipping of raw ingredients and finished blends.
|
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)
|
- Accurately pull and prepare material from pick list and stage for transfer to other facilities. Duties include placing requested material on pallets, checking all lot numbers and quantities to make sure proper material and lot numbers are pulled for transfer.
- Train Warehouse Assistants as needed
- Accurately pull and prepare finished product from pick list and stage for shipment to customers. Duties include placing requested blends on pallets, ensuring blends are properly wrapped and secured, and checking all lot numbers and quantities to make sure the correct blends and lot numbers are pulled for customers.
- Physically load and unload boxes and drums of material (50-70 lbs) onto and from transportation vehicles and racks.
- Assist in taking inventory of raw material and packaging supply.
- Perform retention sampling on products in sterile conditions.
- Ensures proper cleaning, packaging and material inspection per Standard Operating Procedures when assigned.
- Follow company safety procedures and consistently maintain a sanitary work environment.
- Receive all incoming materials into SAP
- Gather all necessary shipment paperwork and forward to the appropriate personnel. If necessary, contact purchasing to obtain missing paperwork.
- Notify production group of deliveries/delayed deliveries if needed.
- Prepare documentation on all outbound shipments from Springfield and other warehouses. Type bills of lading.
- Input daily shipping activity into computer system.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor and Production Supervisor any changes to sales orders.
- Notify Sales / CS of any actual (or potential) problems in shipping of material.
- Schedule carrier for pickups.
- Coordinate incoming deliveries with Purchasing Agent(s).
- Track incoming shipments.
- File freight and insurance claims for lost or damaged material.
- Call for freight rates on various shipments.
- Review all freight bills and maintain freight log for monthly reports.
- Maintain credit folder for all returns and credits. Coordinate with Credit Manager.
- Responsible for freight cost management and acting as liaison for freight carrier relationships.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Hours may vary depending on business needs.

Qualification & Experience Requirements
|
Education, Training:
|
- High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.
|
Experience Required:
|
- Minimum of 2+ years warehouse experience.
- Demonstrated clear communication skills – written and verbal.
- Experience and ability to operate a stand-up forklift and a motorized pallet jack.
- Clean DMV record with a valid driver license.
- Ability to follow direction and work with S.O.P.’s
- Must be detailed oriented and able to read lot numbers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form.
- Ability to work with allergen products (peanuts, soy, dairy, etc.)
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends when needed.
- Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.

Language, Computer & Numeracy:
|
- Knowledge of MRP systems
- MS Office products required
- Must be able to read and speak English
- SAP experience preferred
|

- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

- May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment, light traffic).
- May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e. production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic).
