Job Summary
|
The Warehouse Assistant I is responsible for understanding and effectively demonstrating the ability to execute the proper storage of materials, material movement and housekeeping. In addition to the base responsibilities of a Warehouse Assistant I, the employee is required to specialize in one of the two specialty roles: 1) Production Support. 2) Shipping and Receiving. Must complete all applicable SOP and QA trainings.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)
|
- Warehouse Manufacturing Technician requirements completed
- Warehouse Picker requirements completed
- Warehouse Shipping and Receiving requirements completed
- Remove trash, recyclables, deficient materials and broken pallets out of the warehouse.
- Perform housekeeping as per the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Address radio or email request in a timely manner.
- Invert and or warp items.
- Communicate with various departments via phone or e-mail.
- Adhere to all safety rules, policies and standard operating procedure.
- Operate all heavy equipment.
- Adhere to all heavy equipment operating procedures.
- Load and offload trailers.
- Perform daily or weekly inventory counts
- Perform daily inspection and watering services to heavy equipment batteries.
- Perform put-away using a handheld device.
- Secure third and four lever tier pallets by re-wrapping or transferring to lower tier.
- Safely, store, and handle hazardous materials according to OSHA guidelines and procedures.
- Perform the local daily driving duties and back up the non local driver.
- Complete weekly Behavioral Based Sheet(BBS)
- Inspect and flush the emergency shower and eye station weekly
Shipping and Receiving Specialist
- Receive and store all incoming materials in the proper warehouse storage areas.
- Accurately barcode all incoming raw materials.
- Segregate incoming raw material per material and batch.
- Physically load/unload boxes and drums of material (25 kg) onto/from transportation vehicles.
- Accurately pull/prepare material for shipping from pick list and shrink-wrap for safe transport, including cleaning drum lids; attaching shipping labels and checking all lot numbers to make sure proper material and lot numbers are shipped to customer.
- Complete daily Shipping and Receiving Inspection form.
- Prepare daily order packets for picking.
- Print appropriate GHS labels per material number.
- Accurately collect and attach shipping document to pertaining outbound orders.
- Process daily UPS & FedEx packages in a timely manner.
- Send notification and deliver offline packages to designated area.
- Prepare and package hazardous material according to D.O.T standards.
- Receipt inbound freight in SAP and stage lots for sampling.
- Maintain the inbound Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) record.
Production Support Specialist
- Review production schedule.
- Prepare and deliver items for inspection as requested.
- Pick and accurately prepare items for blending according to the production schedule.
- Accurately affix and verify the SU against the pallet.
- Invert and wrap items coming out of production for put-away.
- Accurately perform the put-away function for blends and incoming raw ingredients.
- Good receipt blends as needed.
- Perform accuracy verification.
- Fulfill all Production request with a high level service and quality.
- Assist with other warehouse duties
- Schedule compactor and recycle bin swaps.
- Perform weekly packaging and gowning counts.
- Regular Attendance is an essential function of this position.

- High School diploma or GED is preferred

- Warehouse experience a plus

- Clear communication skills – written and verbal.
- Must be detail orientated and able to read lot numbers.
- Ability to follow direction and work with S.O.P.’s.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
- Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form.
- Ability to work with allergen products.
- Must be able to work in team environment and possess team-based problem solving skills.
- Must be results focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team goals
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends when needed.
- Clean DMV record with a valid California driver license.
- Ability to stay positive and calm in difficult and/or trying circumstances.
- Ability to work in fast paced deadline orientated environment
- Experience and ability to be certified to operate a forklift and a motorized pallet jack.
- Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.

Physical Demands
- Regulary involves lifiting 25kg to waist height, occasionally reaching overhead.
- Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.

- Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
- Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25kg.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
- Involves moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
- Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
