The Opportunity  

Reporting to the Oceania Finance Director, the primary focus of the role is to provide the commercial sales team with financial metrics and analysis including (i) promotional plan support for incremental growth decisions, (ii) month end reporting of operating results, and (iii) P&L forecasting. This is a hands on role where the Sr FA will aid in driving business growth in Oceania and provide PL forecasting at the same time. Key stakeholders are located in Australia, New Zealand, US and Dublin, therefore cross cultural skills and understanding of international markets is required together with flexibility to work and travel within multiple time zones.                                                    

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Oceania’s Commercial Director to:

    • Facilitate creation of the annual plan and rolling forecasts.

    • Design and monitor rebate and promotional plans.

    • Prepare and distribute periodic commercial reports covering sales orders versus plans.

    • Monitor on-going sales outlook on a monthly, quarterly & annual view.

    • Review month end P&Ls with Regional and Country Managers.

    • Assist in building P&Ls needed to analyze new products

  • Work directly with Sales and Marketing teams on a regular basis and offer value add.

  • Provide month end evaluation of promotional programs and required accruals.

  • Prepare variance analysis and determine causality between business inputs and end results.

  • Provide variance commentary for inclusion in the consolidated financial presentations.

  • Investigate questionable results or data that is out-of-phase or incongruous versus other results to determine and understand the root cause of the issue.

  • Participate in management meetings and provide analysis and commentary to resolve issues and support business decisions

  • Analysis across each brand, line of business and geography

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       Strong PC skills including MS Office; particularly Excel and SAP.

·       Ability to communicate complicated financial information to non-financial staff at  levels in a simple, concise and accurate manner

 

 

 

Education/Experience:

 

·       Degree Qualified Accountant with 5+ years post degree experience in FMCG or similar within a global MNC working towards CA/CPA qualifications and with a strong financial discipline

·       Experience in commercial financial and accounting practice preferably international

·       Experience in managing complex models across currencies, countries and regulations

·       Well-developed English language skills (reading/writing and oral) with effective communication skills

·       Experience working with SAP financial planning, analysis & reporting tools

·       Experience in a high pressure environment and deliver key objectives
