Warehouse 640 operator

MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select).

Operates any position within the warehouse by performing the following duties: receives, stores, and distributes cheese/whey and items that come into the plant on trucks.

Warehouse Level 3

• Execute lower-level job duties, including robot/sampling and operational tasks as required to support fluctuating department demands, staffing shortages, or cross-functional needs. May be required to perform 640 shipping operator role and functions as needed.
• Execute 640 job assignments as delegated. This includes 40lb Customer Requirements/Special Instructions, 640lb shipping operations for cheese products for whey products, ensuring all orders are processed, staged, and loaded according to schedule. Knowledge of Tosca Boxes, Kraft Boxes, Arena Boxes Knowledge of 640lb Material Descriptions/Numbers. 640lb Racking, Stacking, and Consolidation of 640lb product. 640lb Labeling/Relabeling. Large Forklift operations.
• Execute 40lb job assignments as delegated. Executes 40lb operations for cheese products ensuring all orders are processed, staged, and loaded according to schedule. 40lb Customer Requirements/Special Instructions. 40lb Racking, Consolidation, and operations. Small Forklift operations
• Whey Warehouse Operations if needed; includes racking, staging, shipping of whey product.
• Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws.
• Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of MWC non-negotiables.

• Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
• Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
• Communicates efficiently, effectively, and with professionalism and respect when working with leadership, peers, and external partners such as contractors and drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months to 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Ability to run, or learn to run and troubleshoot all equipment and power equipment in the Warehouse.
• Excellent attendance and safety record.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Possess general understanding of export requirements and policies.

• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Proficiency in safely operating both small and large forklifts.
• Proven experience in racking, stacking, staging, and consolidating large-scale freight (specifically 40lb and 640lb configurations).
• Familiarity with SAP systems to perform tasks like creating transfer orders.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing regulations, including FDA, Safe Quality Foods (SQF), and the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO).
• Strict adherence to OSHA standards and a commitment to maintaining a "zero-loss" safety culture.
• Ability to maintain precise records in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and local/state laws.
• Willingness to execute lower-level tasks, handle sampling/robot operations, and step into cross-functional roles to support staffing shortages.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with leadership, peers, external contractors, and truck drivers.

• Regularly involves, talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
• Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
• Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, and/or kneeling.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
• Involves moderate physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
• Should be able to judge distances and spatial relationships.

• May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment and light traffic).
• May work near mechanical moving parts and in cold temperatures.

• Minimal travel limited within the local area.
