Job Summary

This position is responsible for understanding and effectively demonstrating the ability to execute the proper storage of materials, material movement, and housekeeping.  Must complete all applicable SOP and QA trainings.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

 

  • Safely and professionally operate stand-up reach and sit-down forklifts                                                               
  • Perform daily forklift check                                                                                                              
  • Operate scan gun for various tasks - pulling fulls, pulling grocery lists and supplies                                                            
  • Operate computer system to locate ingredients and supplies                                                                                                  
  • Affix pallet placard for fulls and store                                                                                                            
  • Effectively communicate with production management and weigh up                                                  
  • Locate correct lot of material with scan gun                                                                                                 
  • Flip and wrap finished goods                                                                                                            
  • Affix SU tag - confirm lot and quantity                                                                                                           
  • Alert management if any discrepancy before affixing SU tag                                                                                                    
  • Bin SU pallets                                                                                                       
  • Housekeeping by zone                                                                                                      
  • Preparing Raw Material Goods for Blending                                                                                                 
  • Proper Storage of Warehouse Materials
  • Exercise safe practices, report near misses and promote safety.
  • Produce and deliver high levels of quality.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures
  • Bin-to-bin inbound shipments
  • Assist and load carriers                                                                                                     

 

  • Remove trash, recyclables, deficient materials, and broken pallets out of the warehouse.
  • Perform housekeeping as per the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Address radio or email requests promptly.
  • Invert and/or wrap items.
  • Communicate with various departments via phone or e-mail.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Operate all heavy equipment.
  • Adhere to all heavy equipment operating procedures.
  • Load and offload trailers.
  • Perform daily or weekly inventory counts
  • Perform daily inspection and watering services to heavy equipment batteries.
  • Perform put-away using a handheld device.
  • Secure third- and fourth-level pallets by re-wrapping or transferring to a lower tier.
  • Safely store and handle hazardous materials according to OSHA guidelines and procedures.
  • Complete Behavioral Based Sheet(BBS) as scheduled
  • Inspect and flush the emergency shower and eye station as scheduled.
  • Review production schedule.
  • Prepare and deliver items for inspection as requested.
  • Pick Sales orders
  • Pick and accurately prepare items for blending according to the production schedule.
  • Accurately affix and verify the SU against the pallet.
  • Invert and wrap items coming out of production for put-away.
  • Accurately perform the put-away function for blends and incoming raw ingredients.
  • Good receipt blends as needed.
  • Perform accuracy verification.
  • Fulfill all production requests with a high level of service and quality.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties
  • Schedule compactor and recycle bin swaps.
  • Perform weekly packaging and gowning counts.
  • Regular Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Warehouse experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Clear communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to read lot numbers.
  • Stand-up Reach and Sit-down Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to follow direction and work with S.O.P.’s.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
  • Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins, and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form.
  • Ability to work with allergen products.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and possess team-based problem-solving skills.
  • Must be results-focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team goals
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends when needed.
  • Clean DMV record with a valid Illinois driver's license.
  • Ability to stay positive and calm in difficult and/or trying circumstances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience and ability to be certified to operate a forklift and a motorized pallet jack.
  • Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly involves lifting 25 kg to waist height, occasionally reaching overhead.
  • Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
  • Regularly involves going up and down stairs.
  • Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
  • Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25kg.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, and observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right. At the same time, eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment, light traffic).
  • May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e. production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic).
  • May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals.
  • May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
