VP Engineering & Environment, Health & Safety (Glanbia Nutritionals Services, LLC, Twin Falls, ID)

 

Coordinate Strategic, IT and Business Sustaining Projects with Executive Team to drive alignment on business priorities, resource allocation and meet critical milestones to support annual budget. Manage and track the Capital Expense Budget. Lead a team of 60+ engineering, safety, technical services, and environmental health and safety managers and professionals. Establish and maintain Capex policies and procedures. Ensure they are followed and provide training as needed. Review and approve Capex project proposals for completion and accurateness prior to submission to business for approval. Supervise the creation of CapEx proposals, including process design, scope, budget, and schedules. Supervise and advise the resolution of engineering related problems as they arise. Direct the management of approved projects to performance, budget and schedule. Accountable for overall facility infrastructure. Provide technical/engineering recommendations for new equipment/technology. Ensure that sustainability commitments are met, including a strategy for energy, water and waste reductions that align to science-based targets. Manage the Environmental, Health and Safety department to include budgeting, management of personnel and achievement of objectives. Accountable for environmental compliance across all sites. Oversee wastewater treatment facilities, pretreatment systems, land application systems, air pollution control devices, and stormwater permitting. Provide strategy and deliver ESRS (European Standard Reporting Strategy) needs for Health and Safety across the organization. Write Health and Safety and ESRS excerpts for the annual report, updating key KPI’s and narrative to support Group strategy and commitments. Provide strategy and deliver requirements to meet ESRS requirements for environmental reporting. Accountable for Operational Technology (OT) compliance in information security. Lead OT automation team responsible for plant and process IT systems including hardware and software. Accountable for complying with insurance recommendations across all facilities – human element and physical elements. Comply with internal Risk Management System as well as external insurance providers to manage risk and business continuity. Lead business continuity planning (BCP) across all facilities. Ensure Cost Reduction program is applied across the entire organization ensuring all projects are tracked and all sites are stretching to meet targets. Collaborate with business development groups in Commercial, Product Strategy Management, R&D, Finance and Supply Chain in identifying new opportunities for business growth. Achieve financial objectives by preparing the Engineering and Services budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Develop others outside of own team through project or special assignments as appropriate. Drive strong career management and succession planning in partnership with HR Business Partners. International travel required up to 10%; Domestic travel required up to 50%. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to 121 4th Avenue S, Twin Falls, ID 83301. Salary: $215,000 - $260,000 per year.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field plus 4 years   of professional experience as an Engineer or any occupation/position/job title involving engineering and environment, health and safety

 

Must also have experience in the following: 4 years of professional experience assessing feasibility of new equipment, process, product and technical information in the food and beverage industry; 4 years of professional experience preparing financial business case information to justify capital investment of assets by analyzing payback and depreciation metrics to support the investment as well as demonstrating growth potential and revenue of a project; 4 years of professional experience submitting annual budget package, and maintaining cashflow view to ensure that all targets are met for annual reporting; 4 years of professional experience overseeing profit and loss account, and impact of cost of manufacturing; 4 years of professional experience partnering with procurement on development, review and approval of contracts with all vendors who supply equipment or service manufacturing sites; 4 years of professional experience performing capital budget preparation to inform and manage the working capital that feeds into overall cashflow projections for budget setting and closing; 4 years of professional experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form; 4 years of professional experience working with mass balance formulas for milk, cheese and protein processes to clearly define inputs and outputs;

4 years of professional experience reviewing regulatory compliance and environmental permits associated with all manufacturing plants including: wastewater discharge permits, air permits, water permits, and hazardous waste storage permits; 4 years of professional experience responding to inquiries and complaints from customers, members of the business community and regulatory agencies including USDA, OSHA, DEQ, FDA, and EPA; 4 years of professional experience presenting information on capital investment, safety metrics, sustainability metrics and plant performance to management, public groups, and boards of directors; and 4 years of professional experience maintaining compliance with regulatory safety policies, practices and procedures including OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, environmental compliance and insurance requirements.
