A vacancy has arisen for a VAT Specialist at Glanbia Management Services Limited. This is a FTC for 12 months to cover maternity leave and will report to the Group VAT Manager.

Primary responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns, ESL/ EC Sales Lists, Intrastat, and other indirect tax filings.
  • Preparation of VAT control accounts.
  • Monitor deadlines to ensure all filings and payments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide guidance on VAT treatment for domestic and cross‑border transactions.
  • Support business units (Procurement, AP, AR, Supply Chain, etc.) on VAT‑related queries.
  • Track changes in VAT regulations and assess operational impacts.
  • Communicate regulatory changes to stakeholders and update internal processes accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline VAT processes.
  • Support implementation of tax technology tools and ERP enhancements.
  • Support internal and external VAT audits.
  • Prepare audit documentation and reconcile queries raised by tax authorities.
  • Ensure appropriate VAT controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and IT to ensure VAT compliance across business activities.
  • Support new product launches, supply chain changes, or new market entries with VAT analysis.

The skills you will bring to the team

  • AITI or ACA/ACCA Qualified.
  • 3-5 Years relevant experience
  • Degree in business, finance, accounting or similar qualification
  • Strong understanding of VAT legislation and EU VAT Directive principles.
  • Experience with VAT compliance, cross‑border transactions, and indirect tax controls.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, SAP an advantage.
  • Strong Excel and data‑analysis skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain VAT concepts to non‑technical colleagues.
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
