The Role

We are recruiting a Head of DTC to lead the strategic acceleration of GPN’s Optimum Nutrition online platform.  DTC is a strategically important channel for GPN; as well as being a valuable revenue centre, it provides the opportunity to own the customer relationship, enhance the messaging and experience, and capture real time consumer data.  It's our opportunity to get closer to consumers, build our brand brilliantly, test and learn, and share insights to further grow our brand in other on and offline channels.

In this role you will have responsibility for contributing, supporting and executing the strategy for Optimum Nutrition DTC sites in Europe.  You will be responsible for partnering with E-Commerce, Brand.Com and In-Market Teams, to drive the Online Commercial, Content and Community agenda to deliver a seamless and engaging shopping experience that builds our brand brilliantly to drive equity and loyalty. 

This role will be based in Amsterdam, reports to the E-Commerce Director for Europe, and will have responsibility for building and developing a diverse and high performing team of 6 people.  The remit will span across Europe so the candidate will need strong networking and communication skills to manage a complex multi-functional and geographic stakeholder network.  The role will work closely with the E-Commerce Director, VP of Brand.Com, Performance Marketing and Digital Commerce Leads, as well as Brand, Tech and Marketing teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contributing to and supporting the execution of GPN’s DTC strategy for Optimum Nutrition Europe, with responsibility for a team of 6.
  • Evolving and accelerating the DTC strategy (geographically and operationally) to build the ON brand and drive brand awareness, conversion and loyalty.
  • Bringing thought leadership, differentiation and evolutionary thinking, executed through a Test & Learn culture, to set the channel and brand apart from other channels or competitors
  • Delivering against Commercial & Digital KPIs whilst stepping up performance management capabilities to scrutinise and leverage data.  Analytical thinking, using data to inform decision making that fuels growth.
  • Bringing Consumer centricity, and effective use of 1st Party Data to connect the dots and develop actionable insights that enable us to respond quickly and competitively to trends and opportunities.
  • Building, managing and developing a team of 6 people.  Creating a strong performance culture fuelled by creativity, innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.  Providing thought leadership to the business on all areas of Digital and inputting into cross functional strategy with a digital lens.
  • Providing clear strategic direction and partnership to the Merchandising, Trade & CRM team, to optimise the website, improve UX and the Consumer Journey, and to better engage shoppers to increase conversion.
  • Site optimisation in close partnership with the Technology and International team, and Project Management of new brand.com sites
  • Business partnership with the E-Commerce and Brand.com teams on the broader long term strategic vision and direction for the channel. Cross functional partnership with DTC supporting functions of Technology, Supply Chain and Customer Services.
  • Collaboration with internal and external agencies and partners to support tech and platform initiatives.
  • Collaboration with Global and Local Brand, Media and Marketing teams on channel brand strategy, Search strategy and disruptive media strategies to drive traffic, conversion and loyalty. And strong stakeholder management to drive changes and actions via Steerco and MBRs 

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required:

  • Business experience. It is essential that the candidate has experience in Commercial and Digital functions
  • Previous D2C experience in Leadership & Management positions
  • Proven track record of success across various geographies and business disciplines
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team to success
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies that drive business results.
  • Comfortable presenting and influencing at all levels of an organization
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably within the technology or e-commerce industry.
  • Strong in relationship building, stakeholder management and influencing across complex stakeholder matrices
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • High Learning agility, and curious and passionate in the area of digital
  • Growth mindset and relentless in pursuit of growth
  • Action orientated. Able to zoom in and out of the detail and cut through complexity to drive decision making Knowledge of relevant technologies, platforms, and tools in the e-commerce landscape.
  • Languages - English (fluent), additional languages would be ideal
