The Opportunity
At Glanbia Performance Nutrition (GPN), our mission is to inspire people everywhere to achieve their performance and healthy lifestyle goals! We are a global leader in the performance nutrition industry and have a portfolio of nine brands, including Optimum Nutrition (ON), BSN, Isopure, Nutramino, Think!, and Amazing Grass.
We’re looking for a Brand Manager to join the Optimum Nutrition team here at Glanbia Performance Nutrition. You will be responsible for step changing our marketing activation in Italy; managing brand campaigns in the region, full responsibility for social media & influencers, leading community fitness events and activating trade marketing visibility in-store and online. The role requires someone with experience in brand marketing, who has strong communication and organisational skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a native Italian speaker living in Italy, although the role will be fully remote. As Glanbia Performance Nutrition is an English speaking business it is also a pre-requisite to have fluent English speaking proficiency to be able to effectively communicate internally.
Primary responsibilities for this role will include:
Own the Italy Marketing Plan
- Working closely with Head of Marketing & Commercial Manager to build and execute the annual plan; with full marketing budget responsibility.
- Adapt and evolve plans as necessary throughout the year based on key insights and learnings.
- Feed Italy insights into total Southern Europe strategy and Annual Brand Planning cycles.
Integrated marketing campaigns
- Conceptualise and deliver stand-out, 360° marketing campaigns that deliver against the consumer jobs to be done in the region —from creative development through to execution across paid, owned, and earned channels, including media, digital, and in-store activations.
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to localise global & innovation campaigns, adapting relevantly to the Italian market.
Social Media
- Full responsibility for organic Instagram account, with ambition to grow & scale the community:
- Developing and planning a content calendar
- Full community management responsibility
- Localising and developing content
- Monthly reporting via in-platform tools or Sprinklr
- Full responsibility for paid social: working with media agency to brief the media plan, set relevant KPIs and report back to the business on performance
Events & Activations
- Plan and deliver community events, gym activations, and sampling—end-to-end operations and post-event reports.
- Partner with Commercial team on key retailer moments (demos, takeovers, new launches).
Influencers
- Manage the Italy influencer roster: contracting & negotiations, monthly briefing, approving content & overall relationship management
- Collaborate closely with ABM in Iberia to align on activation strategy
- Manage influencers through online influencer platform Club
- Activate influencer-led workshops and community events
Partnerships & OOH
- Activate global partnership with McLaren locally in Italy, managing creative campaigns across digital channels, retail & events
Trade Marketing (Retail & Grocery / FDM)
- Collaborate with Commercial Manager on outlining an annual trade marketing activation calendar.
- Lead the overall coordination of trade marketing visibility with our distributors, with the aim of maximising in-store visibility for the brand.
- Lead the creation of online and in-store point-of-sale material.
- Execute retailer takeovers and launch playbooks; tracking ROS and uplift.
Online & DTC
- Cross-functional collaboration with our online teams; developing and rolling out marketing campaigns across Amazon as well as our Direct to Consumer channel.
Measurement & Reporting
- Build concise dashboards on brand health, social KPIs, media, event ROI, and trade activation impact.
- Own monthly business readouts for Italy; share learnings and next actions.
Reporting line and key stakeholders:
- Reporting into Head of Marketing, Southern Europe
- Dotted line into Commercial Manager for Italy
The skills you will bring to the team
- Degree qualified within a relevant discipline
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in brand/consumer marketing (FMCG, sports or lifestyle preferred)
- Italian native, living in Italy with fluent English speaking proficiency
- Flexibility to travel to events where needed (within Italy)
- Digitally native on social media platforms, with particular expertise on Instagram
- Ideally has experience of working with athletes & influencers
- Strong knowledge & experience of trade and shopper marketing
- Excellent communication & relationship building skills
- Innovative and creative thinker
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and provide learnings
- Self-Starter, highly motivated and able to create processes and come up with solutions
- Agile mindset, able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- An interest in sports & fitness preferred
- Ability to work 100% remotely
