Overview
The Business Development Executive (BDE) sits in the Ingredients category and reports into the Business Development Manager – Plant Portfolio. 
The role will open new business opportunities for Tirlán through providing plant based solutions to the food and beverage industry, which complement Tirlán’s existing portfolio of dairy ingredients and solutions. We deliver the highest quality specialist ingredients, meeting consumer needs and market trends while maintaining our commitment to sustainability.
Tirlán not only offers cereal flakes and flours to our B2B partners, we’ve also expanded our capability into downstream dairy alternative offerings such as plant based cheese. The role is accountable for growing sales with new customers across the European, US, Middle East and Asian markets in line with Tirlán’s growth strategy. The BDE will identify and execute organic growth opportunities within the core portfolio of flakes, flour and plant based cheese for conventional, organic and gluten free applications into breakfast cereals, snacks, biscuits and bars and dairy alternatives. The successful candidate will drive the transformation required to achieve growth targets as well as building new sales channels. They will bring the voice of the customer to the table and work with the Business Development Manager to drive initiatives to ensure excellent customer experience delivery. They will leverage customer insights to spot innovation potential across our categories. 


Responsibilities
•    Develop new and existing commercial partnerships with customers in key regions. 
•    Administrate contracts ensuring best possible returns for the Ingredients business.
•    Support the management of key sales accounts and sales forecasts in line with business requirements.
•    Support new product development pipeline with customers in coordination with quality/technical, supply chain and marketing functions using the Tirlan pipeline tracker
•    Management of incoming website sales leads, follow up and tracking for the plant category 
•    Lead generation
o    This would include the investigation into the lead, qualifying it, initial engagement with the customer, feeding back to us potential volume/impact etc.
o    Lead pipeline management, web insights and proactively chasing up old leads 
•    Contribute towards the collation of market intelligence, lead generation and qualification and report on the competitive landscape and market pricing information.
•    Contribute towards the elaboration of a business strategy and growth plan for the portfolio and for key customers.
•    Identify and develop opportunities for new market entry and sales growth.
•    Communication: All relevant customer facing communications, preparation of internal reports, business development reviews. 
•    Customer and market knowledge – with an ability to help customers grow their brands and business


Requirements
•    Degree level in Business / Commerce / Food science or other similar third level qualification.
•    2+ years’ experience in a similar role for the business development and sales of B2B food ingredients.
•    Previous experience with food or plant portfolio and/or ability to provide technical support to customers and present potential applications of our range of ingredients into their product formulations will be a distinct advantage.
•    Ability to close the full sales cycle from lead generation to contracting.
•    Ability to develop relationships with key influencers and decision makers at customer level (Key Account Management) and within the Tirlan business.
•    Previous experience in data-management and information sharing via a CRM platform.
•    Excellent sales, negotiation and presentation skills.
•    Resilient, resourceful with a solution mind-set is essential.
