Role Profile

The Nutrition Manager working within the Tirlán R&D function is responsible for providing nutritional and scientific expertise to the R&D teams to meet business needs on new product development initiatives. They will prepare scientific and nutritional dossiers for internal and external stakeholders. The Nutrition Manager will collaborate closely with Tirlán Regulatory & Compliance, Marketing and Commercial teams as well as continuous engagement within the R&D team.  This role will provide nutrition support for projects focussed on innovation and NPD.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nutrition expertise and guidance at the product design stage for products that are destined for either domestic or international markets to ensure nutrition superiority, zero mistakes and complete regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with the Regulatory & Compliance team and Marketing to establish scientific and marketing claims to support the product portfolio and marketing story. 
  • Co-develop with Marketing collateral to be used to promote the nutritional benefits of the portfolio.
  • Communicate nutritional benefits of Tirlán products using various means including media contact, HCP’s, schools visits and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide nutritional scientific support to Marketing & Commercial as required.
  • Contribute to research and innovation strategies and pipelines to enable Tirlán commercial strategy and translate nutrition and health science insights into commercial opportunities
  • Manage external research activities.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support product claims development.
  • Represent Tirlán at external science and nutrition events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external scientific experts and KOL’s.
  • Understand and remain abreast of consumer trends in relation to dairy and non-dairy food products.
  • Undertake scientific literature searching and preparation of scientific reviews.
  • Keep well informed of research in the field of Nutrition and Sustainability.
  • Keep up to date on market trends, technical developments and legislation.

 

Key Requirements

  • 5 + years relevant commercial nutritional science/nutritionist experience ideally having worked in dairy, plant based, medical or sports nutrition.
  • Food Nutrition and Health Sciences based qualification – 3rd level.
  • Writing scientific dossiers and translate same into recommendations for the business.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Commercial, Regulatory & Compliance).
  • Experience in interacting with external experts and KOL’s.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate project management and exhibit aptitude for planning and delivering projects to completion.

The successful candidate will be based in Ballyragget and will be required to travel periodically.
