An opportunity has arisen for a Global Trade Operations Specialist. This is a permanent opportunity and will report to the Head of Global Trade Operations.

 

Who we are:

The Global Trade Operations Function is a new function within the Glanbia PLC Shared Services Centre that has been established to ensure all Glanbia Business Units and Joint Ventures are in compliance with their customs and international trade obligations and to ensure our international supply chains are operating in an efficient and effective manner from a customs and international trade perspective.

This is an exciting role supporting various Business Units in a number of territories (EMEA, Americas, APAC).

What your role will involve:

  • Support the implementation of value opportunities in our international supply chain flows through the use of preferential trade agreements and customs economic procedures
  • Support new supply chain enablement in existing and new markets from a customs and international trade perspective
  • Provide ad-hoc support to business partners in the various Business Units and Joint Ventures on customs and international trade matters
  • Undertake tariff classification, including obtaining binding rulings from government authorities, for a wide range of products in multiple jurisdictions
  • Undertake preferential and non-preferential origin determination, including obtaining binding rulings from government authorities, for a wide range of products in multiple jurisdictions
  • Support training to internal stakeholders on customs and international trade topics
  • Support internal reviews from a customs and international trade perspective
  • Act as a point of contact with the multiple customs brokers submitting declarations on behalf of Glanbia Business Units and Joint Ventures
  • Assist with the development of internal operating procedures for customs and international trade
  • Support on third party customs audits/enquiries
  • Support the management of obligations for economic procedures in place across the various business units

 

Required Experience:

  • In depth knowledge of customs and international trade
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the area of customs and international trade (preferred experience will be from Big 4 Accounting roles and/or MNC in-house roles covering multiple geographies
  • Third Level Degree in a related discipline (Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Accounting, Logistics, Law)
  • Operational and technical knowledge of international supply chains
