The Opportunity 

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the Finance Information Risk Management (FIRM) Team. The role will be based in Kilkenny, with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance. This is a permanent position and will report directly to the manager of the Finance Information Risk Management Team. The Financial Accountant will become a knowledge expert and business partner on Glanbia financial statements and systems which are deployed across the Group. They will drive maintenance and enhancement of key global finance related documentation and systems that are used to efficiently manage and control finance change for Glanbia entities worldwide. The role will require regular communication with stakeholders at all levels across the Group and within the Finance Information Risk Management (FIRM) team.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Become a knowledge expert on the Group’s SAP S/4 HANA ERP and Consolidated Financial Statements and systems deployed across the Group.
  • Become a knowledge expert on certain areas of the Group’s existing financial policies and procedures and apply this expert knowledge to continual analysis and review of the Group’s finance system settings, identifying enhancements and assisting in related projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s finance information policies and procedures and, as a FIRM business partner, engage in regular, proactive and clear communications with accountants and stakeholders across the Group’s Business Units (BUs) to maintain this compliance.
  • Own and drive the continual improvement of the Global Finance Information Sharepoint Portal and support in the management of the FIRM team mailbox.
  • Support in the preparation of various disclosure requirements in Glanbia Plc’s interim results and annual report, and liaise with external auditors to facilitate their review of these financial statements.
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy and relevancy of a suite of existing finance governance forms used to enable Global Finance BAU and project change, Global Finance mapping and organisational files and process documentation associated with additional systems that can and do integrate into SAP Finance such as Concur and Ariba, managing approval of any associated requests to this documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with the global SAP Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) finance process, and own the finance access authorisation request process.
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities and finance project work as and when required.

 

 

Experience

 

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) required and retain membership of the relevant accounting body.
  • Strong hands-on SAP FICO or similar ERP knowledge (SAP S/4HANA, chart of accounts transformation/change or other system project experience a distinct advantage).
  • Strong financial control process improvement and development experience, preferably in a multi-function environment.
  • Project management skills and flexible style - able to identify priority/urgent items and ensure delivery on such items.
  • Good team work and team integration skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and operate tactically, and to manage competing demands and expectations.
  • Highly organised and capable of delivering on multiple tasks within tight timeframes, prepared to do what it takes to get the job done.
