The Opportunity 

 

An opportunity has arisen for an Internal Audit Supervisor based in our Kilkenny, Dublin or Chicago Corporate offices. This is a permanent position and will report to the Group Internal Audit Manager. The role offers an excellent career development opportunity, within a high growth-oriented organization, for an ambitious, business focused individual.

 

  • Planning and executing business unit reviews/audits in accordance with the Group Internal Audit plan and in compliance with IIA standards under the following main headings:
    • Review adequacy of internal controls and management reporting systems;
    • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of business and administration procedures; and
    • Review compliance with group policies and procedures.
  • Process mapping business processes and developing a thorough understanding of the Group’s operations in order to identify and monitor the key risks facing the Group.
  • Delivering scheduled assignments, at times individually and at times as part of a larger engagement team in accordance with the Group Internal Audit plan.
  • Driving improved quality in audit documentation and reporting in line with IIA standards.
  • Engaging with local management on draft findings as they arise and, where appropriate, negotiating changes to existing procedures. Drafting of Internal Audit reports for discussion with local management.
  • Performing ad-hoc projects as directed by the Group Head of Internal Audit/Audit Manager.
  • Complying with the Internal Audit Charter and Internal Audit Code of Ethics.

 

  

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Professional, enthusiastic individual who is flexible to changing work demands.
  • Good commercial acumen and well-developed audit skills with an ability to work at times on own initiative and/or as part of a team.
  • Experience in Internal Audit and compliance work will be a distinct advantage.
  • Possess a good understanding of compliance and internal controls within a manufacturing environment, including finance, IT and/or operational controls.
  • Experience using data analytic tools and/or AuditBoard (or similar audit management software) is desirable, but not essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of internal control and related compliance methodologies.
  • Degree in relevant discipline: Business Administration, Accounting or Computer Science preferred.
  • Fully qualified ACA or ACCA, with 4+ years post qualification experience, preferably trained in a Big 4 accountancy practice.
  • CISA qualified desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility – the role will provide a great opportunity for the right candidate to travel, up to 20%, primarily but not exclusively, to US destinations.
