Role Profile

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Manager - Accounting & Reporting will be responsible for key financial reporting internally and externally, including Board & Committee reporting and key financial statements. The role will also have responsibility for aspects of technical financial reporting and compliance within Tirlán.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Key relationship owner with external auditors, owning the process to ensure a smooth audit delivered to agreed timelines
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, in compliance with IFRS, and other accounting regulations
  • Review and analyse financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting regulations and safeguard company assets
  • Manage and mentor the financial accounting team to ensure that staff are competent and equipped to perform their roles effectively
  • Collaborate with other departments, ensuring that financial accounting and reporting are aligned with overall Group strategy
  • Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends, areas of risk, and opportunities for improvement
  • Drive process improvements to streamline financial accounting & reporting and enhance efficiency
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports, as required by the Board & senior management
  • Prepare and review key board & board subcommittee reports
  • Owner of the Group Accounting Manual ensuring accuracy and compliance with all accounting standards and company law requirements

 

Key Requirements

  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA)
  • Trained and progressed to at least manager level in a Big 4 firm
  • Experience in financial reporting and consolidated financial statements for a large complex organisation
  • Experience in preparing Board and Board sub-committee reports
  • Excellent IFRS knowledge with a passion for problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including report writing
  • Can interpret complex financial and commercial issues and communicate proposals to stakeholders
  • A self-starter, with a high degree of analytical rigour with the ability to think commercially and strategically while working with detail
  • A strong collaborator who can challenge and influence colleagues at all levels
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ideally experience of ERP systems, SAP & Data Warehousing platforms (or similar) and report design would be an advantage
