The Opportunity 

 

The Category Specialist will be part of Glanbia’s Corporate Procurement team and will report to the Corporate Procurement Manager. The role will be responsible for managing a number of indirect spend areas and providing procurement process support to Glanbia’s stakeholders.

 

This role is a Permanent role.

 

  • Provide procurement category support across the Corporate Indirect spend areas covering a range of subcategories within Business Services, Professional Services and IT.
  • This will include building and maintaining category knowledge, supporting the sourcing and supplier selection process, contract negotiation and management and supplier relationship management.
  • Become a valued business partner for Glanbia’s key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor in the procurement process.
  • Manage and develop a variety of supplier relationships and continuously assess opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the Corporate Procurement Manager in driving continuous improvements in procurement while supporting day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and deliver key reporting metrics for the team.
  • Support stakeholder queries across a range of procurement process and system related topics including the use of SAP and Ariba (Glanbia’s procurement Systems).
  • Deliver procurement training to new and existing users including requisitioners and approvers.
  • Support supplier invoicing and payment queries and liase with appropriate stakeholders to resolve including Accounts Payable.
  • Work with Glanbia’s Business Services teams to define appropriate buying channels as well as assess opportunities for optimisation of the Procure-to-Pay process.

 

 

 

The Requirements & Skills you will bring to the team

 

  • 2-3 years Indirect Category experience
  • Experience with SAP/Ariba is advantageous
  • Commercial Contractual knowledge is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills/ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective Negotiation Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel
  • Analytical skills
  • Good organisational skills
